It's all about the shoes...

Looking across the entirety of this years range, which brand for this year would lure your wallet into action? Or would you be looking to get your own set of treads spiked up for the outfield?

If you own any of the above brands' shoes from the upcoming season, or previous years- let us know why you love them!

Maybe one of the most unspoken about pieces of kit in the bag but we all have a pair that gets us from A-B out on the field.

I've had Puma and Asics since I've bought my own shoes, I always go for an actual shoe maker, rather than a cricket company who's giving shoes a go.

I've always found Asics to be the best for comfort and longevity, that being why I use their kit.

Really am tempted to give Nike shoes a go though...

I got last years Nike dominates but they weren't my favourites, very squeeky and were not all they are cracked up to be, cushioning on the feet however were quite nice. After getting the Asics gel advance 5 the Nike's took a back seat. If you wanted them then you can definitely have them!

I had a pair of reebok spikes aabout15 years ago. Was awesome. Lasted me year. Comfy good support grip.
When they died i cried as I couldn't find another pair.

Had

Gray nics
GM
Kook
Slaz

And didn't rate any.

Puma were getting there.

But my new balance last year were on another level. Comfy. Durable, grippy. And an awesome looking show to imo.

Reckon I'll buy another set for this year too!

Which of the new balance ones did you go for last year? I'm guessing the 40/40s as they were getting some rave reviews from the lads at the club

40/30s.

Didn't bowl last year so didn't need the extra support.
May get a bowling set this year though

Following with interest as I've had spiked trainers for the last 3 seasons but after my version of medium pace was surprisingly successful looking into something with a bit more support for 2015

Only had Puma before out of the above brands, green ballistics. Very decent and kept them till they were in tatters

If you do a bit of both, then like i said the New balance have been given a huge backing by the lads last season- but from what i hear are that the adidas are making motions with their stuff without killing the pocket unlike the Asics and nikes. Especially Asics though with the ODI at £140 odd this year  :o

Iv just bought the Adidas Howzat shows for this year and they appear very comfy from what iv seen so far but I have always worn Asics for the last 5-6 years.

Anyone had/got the more recent Puma spikes? If so which model and how have you found them?

I did have some pumas about 5 seasons ago which we're ok but I bowl a lot of overs and have knee / Achilles issues so I try to have a little more support so used asics speed menace for 3 seasons which were very good and used nikes last season which are a lot lighter although I favoured the asics for support. The only thing is batting I only have 1 pair and like to use full spikes so the Nike are a bit better for this dual purpose use.

I'm really undecided, I liked the Adidas but not sure about the red colourway.  I think I might try the New Balance shoes the rubbers look good.

Purely from a bowling point of view, I can highly recommend the New Balance 4040's. Lightweight and really good support. I'd imagine the rest of their range would be very good.

I have previously used asics, had gel advance 4's last season but they were giving me problems with the ball of my right foot. Just been to all rounder this morning and picked up a pair of new balance 4030's. They are really comfortable, picked up the new Adidas top end shoes and they are super light!
