CA U-AK3 Cricket Bat. My new bat!
« on: February 25, 2015, 03:54:08 AM »

Just received my new bat direct from CA. Decided to get CA top range bat. Looks great, Weight around 2.9. Minimum concaving. And ping is amazing on most of the bat.

Only disappointment is that during transit the spine of the bat got a dent not a massive dent just a minor which has really put me of as it ruins the look of this great bat and hope ot don't affect the performance of the bat.

Thats a lovely looking CA, love the profile & almost no concaving on it. This one looks well finished and doesn't look as dry as other CAs we have seen around. Looks a great stick mate.

Good call! I took screenshots of UA's bat when he was playing the World Cup matches. The sweet spot or swell seems high? And there is a bit of a duckbill with a full profile. Can you post a full  profile picture of the bat? Thanks.

Lovely looking bat. On the spine, I think Matt from h4l posted a thread a few years back about putting a damp sponge or cloth on the dented part of the spine, it should swell back up and look good as new again.

Very nice bat. I love my two CA's. Just out of interest can you weigh your bat?  just want to know if its weight matches the weight sticker on the edge.

That dent unfortunately looks terminal to my rather experienced eyes.... Due to increasing demand, I am starting a ruined-bat-disposal service which at this stage I can offer to Forumites for the bargain price of "free". Post it to me and I shall rid you of this nightmare, and please, don't thank me, I do this out of love for the game.... :D

I use steam mate i spit on the area and boil a kettle as it starts to steam it will pull the wood back out leave a tiny crack but will do the trick i do it to little dinks in mine.

I noticed no sticker saying 'fully knocked' - about time they got rid of that, it's the most ridiculous statement ever.

Oh, and a genuine offer here. If it actually weighs 2'9, i'll knock it in for free ;)

Lovely looking bat

Haha, Jake, no chance it will be actual weight of 2.9!
