The bat (or any bat for that matter) wouldnt look anywhere near as big without scooping, so there is always a compromise, but I think one worth making as this really is a lovely looking design (slightly biased....) ;-)

I was wondering the same for the new DB1 profile as I'm not keen on scooping as well but I gueas it's needed to keep the weight down.

The new DB1 has a slightly higher middle with a reduced toe and shoulder - making the swell look even bigger.

Modern twist on a classic shape.

There coming mate from toe upwards I like the db1 profile now the old db1 was a modern one but new one is a twist
