Importing from cricmart.in
« on: June 04, 2015, 11:20:10 AM »

Hi,
I decided to take a bit of a gamble the other day and order some SS Super Test whiteout gloves from cricmart.in.  At first it all seemed to go swimmingly and cricmart.in reported the order dispatched within a couple of days, and gave me a ubx.in tracking number.  However from this point it started to go wrong.  Tracking the order on ubx's website, provided me with a forwarded Yodel tracking number a couple of days ago; however this doesn't come up on Yodel's website. I wondered if the Yodel tracking number was wrong so phoned their customer service however they have no record of any package in my name  :(.  I've also fired off an email enquiry to ubx, and waiting for a reply.  So at the moment I fear it's disappeared into a black hole between ubx and Yodel.
For those of you who have experience of importing from india - especially these couriers - should I start to worry now and start going through the pain of chasing compensation, or is it normal for there to be problems with the tracking that sort themselves out?

Can we have actual days/timescales please?
"A couple of days" is good, but was this last week or yesterday you tried to contact yodel?

I've never had an issue with UBX delivering things to me, but the tracking information has taken a couple of days to update after handing the parcel over (I think to UKMail instead of Yodel in my case though).

And can I suggest contacting Cricmart.in, when I had something missing from my order they were brilliant in finding out what had gone wrong and resolving it.

Timescales... cricmart gave me a UBX tracking number on 1st June; on the UBX website it has a "booking date" of 2nd June; and yesterday the status of the package on the website changed to show me the Yodel "On Forwarding No".  However its status still only says "in transit" and the tracking history is completely empty.  The status suggests that UBX might still have it though if that's the case it's odd that it's got a Yodel tracking number.  I tried phoning Yodel this morning and also emailed UBX, awaiting a reply.  I'm encouraged by what you say about UBX so perhaps there is still hope, their website and tracking information seems a bit flaky though.

put universal package tracker in google, they usually look up most carriers so might be able to find it that way. or go direct to www.packagetrackr.com

Yes I'd heard that too, down there with MyHermes.  Better that outcome than they've, er, "mislaid" it...

Well that's not bad.  Just had an email from cricmart saying they'd been in contact with UBX and to tell me it would be with me by the weekend.  That's impressive customer service given that I hadn't even emailed cricmart.

Are you able to give us a review and put some pictures when you get them @felix as I was wondering what the quality and sizing is like, I'm guessing they're Indian size meaning they're smaller but was wanting to find out before ordering.

If they are the same as these for me they are quite small fitting meaning i cant wear inners with these. I normally wear normal mens size gloves.

Given recent experience, I'd always contact the seller before publicising anything

Hold on a minute, this thread was never meant to imply any criticism of cricmart, as I said they've been really good.  The problem has obviously been with one of the couriers, and I assumed that no seller would take responsibility for the failing of a courier, so they've really gone the extra mile to contact me this way.  I had been contemplating contacting them as a last resort but I didn't really see this as their problem!
