Why do pads come in right handed and left handed versions then?
It's to do with the calf protection or the side wing , the extra protection is dependent on the dexterity of the pad.
And surely that would be compromised if you were wearing your pads the wrong way round?
Oh right, in that case I'm with Cam. The last two England captains are morons who wear their pads on the wrong way.
I don't think you can judge it like that, Cook's a great batsman, but that doesn't necessairly make him a good captain or pad wearer.
You can be an idiot and still be a great batsman, look at Dave Warner and Alex Hales, they look like dumb and dumber!
at a guess - if you have 'overhang' outside the pad, there is potential for a ball to clip it and the umpire may think you got a nick??
This has happened to me, bought pads with better sized straps. Any excuse....
