Brother Aussie in England, we love a bit of banter on the forum, none of it too serious, you're no where near a bad as GerrySA,unless of course it's you under a different name.
According to GerrySA England were going to get murdered in this series, some of us did point out we think in our conditions it might be close, but no,we were shouted down.....
 :)
anyway, from your profile looks like you have 2 teams to support, Kiwi's and Australia.

You can change sides without any loos of face.  :)
No he does nt support the the kiwis they support there team with the right attitude.

Nobody cares about ODI's mate, Test cricket is what it's all about.
I suppose a moral boosting ODI series win will make up for losing the Ashes though!
You keep clutching at those straws though, by all means  ;)

Jos Buttler is pathetic. Steven Davies is far more deserving a Test berth than Buttler.

Root will be lucky to retire with an average of 45+. He's a typical Pom feast at home and disappear in away Test matches.

Trott averaged 60+ ended up at 44.
Cook averaged 50+ is now down at 46
Balance was 60+ is now at 47

You forgot about Michael Clarke too...

Mate seriously, you are looking like a bit of a tool. I'm not a fan of Root and I thought he was average, but you cannot argue with his stats. Same argument Gerry used to have with Sangakara scoring all his runs at home.

Probably the only world class batsman is Kane Williamson  ;) ;) ;)

echo that, I can't believe the Aussies give a monkeys about the one dayers. The Ashes holds sooo much history and tradition and it's what the players play for from both sides.

I would love to know what is going thru Warne,Mcgrath and Ponting's minds....

They are Aussies some of us have admired over the years, and ther's no way they would of thrown the towel in like they did yesterday

Children, we've warned you before...

Now, Jos, that really was a silly thing to try and do...

Looks like they might restrict the lead to around 300.

Just imagine how strange it would be if Clarkey & Co. actually came out to bat with the intention of batting for a couple of days and putting on 500 to stand perhaps some chance of staying in the game, I can't imagine it, I don't think they're capable of even trying. It's like when India are under the cosh, it's a waste of time watching them bat. I'll keep half an eye on it in case something incredible happens with the ball again for england but essentially, there's no point waiting to find out what Australia will do, they'll play unecessary hoiks and cuts, chuck their wickets and get it over and done with.

Modify: It's also what England did last ashes down under, to be fair.

Starcers has bowled well, and batting is not looking quite so easy this morning. Maybe because the bowling is better.

I'm not sure 300 is enough of a lead on here... I think we may struggle to get them out for that in the second innings!
