Looking for the 2016 season
« on: September 18, 2015, 08:22:45 PM »

I'm looking for a new bat for the 2016 season and thought i might try and get one while they are on sale from the end of the 2015 season.
I'm looking for a g1 bat that's around or under £200.
I play on wickets that keep low.
Any thoughts on what to buy??

And also does it really matter about going to the shop and feeling the bat in my hands.

What type of weight bat are you looking for?

Finding a bat on feel is the best thing you can do.

...and while you're about it wear batting gloves.

Ok, I think I'll try and pick a bat up this week. Can you get any decent grade 1 bats for under £200

I live in Cheshire,  so the best place around me is probably Romida sports.

Does a higher grade willow mean that it will ping more,  or is grading done on how good it looks

Incredibly good looking one too! And performs well too as you can imagine from the hand picking!

Normally grading is based on looks but certain bat makers grade on looks and performance.

So what would be more recommended

Going to a shop and feeling the weight and ping of bats

Or ordering the exact bat you want online without feeling what the bat is like

Obviously going to a shop...
Unless you buy from a sponsor who will have hand picked their stock, ordering "the exact bat you want online" will almost certainly end in disappointment at this time of year...

What about Barringtons, you can try some out in store apparently.
