Masuri Stem Guards

Initially delivery of stem guards arrived and we have only got very few left , more coming in the next few days

I am looking to buy one for the upcoming season here in India. With stem guards, would rather buy a Masuri. Which models of Masuri should I target so that the stem guards fit into those?

Or are they universal?

There is a stemguard to fit all models. Club model helmets have their own separate stemguard, the most popular models, the Elite and Test, both accept the same stemguard.

No, the Masuri stem guard will only fit Masuri and likewise the stem guards that we have seen so far from GM and Shrey will only fit thier helmets.

I would think a guard from Grays will be released fairly soon  now that the other brands have started to do so.

I think I have seen some international players wearing the Masuri stem guard with a Shrey helmet, but of course, this doesn't make many people happy!

I am waiting to find out conclusively if a Shrey neck guard fits on a Masuri helmet.  I can't believe the Shrey one costs so much less than the Masuri but does the same thing! It's less than half the price.  Is the Masuri one worth paying extra for?

The issue will be that branded items will need pairing up with the same brand product, with the new safety standard we now have to label the grills so that they can only be fitted to X model of helmet in order to make it compliant. Chopping and changing between brand X's shell and brand Y's grille would nullify the helmet in questions safety standard compliance.

Rodgers had a Stem Guard on a Shrey helmet I believe in the ashes but subsequently converted to a full Masuri.

As a standard fit the Masuri stem guard does not fit a Shrey helmet. It may well do if you cut it, but then that would be a total waste of money and risky as you would no doubt be affecting the performance of the product.

Good question... I still can't understand how a small piece of protective foam can be retailed at £49.99. It's ridiculous. If it took that much R&D to produce then why did we see them on the pro's helmets within weeks of the unfortunate incident which led to it's creation?

Agreed, especially as the Shrey one is just £19.99...

Only the newer ones that pass the new British Standard, so from 2014 onwards.
