Is that horizontal white mark half way up the bat part of the butterfly stain or a sign of storm damage? I only ask as my bubble has the same mark right across the sweet spot. Also, is it better to sand the bleached willow back before oiling or won't it make any difference.
I think a lot of people are now looking to much into storm damage after the doctor put a post up these marks on the kookaburra bats are what's known as butterfly stain and are very unlikely to break I sanded mine back so I could see the stain more then I gave it a light oil I think you're be very surprised with the performance of these bats
I will do. I'll have to sand it back a bit first though, as it has been bleached so much it's hard to show the grains in a picture. Anyone got the link of how to upload photos?
I also received this GN F18. It's a bit grubby in the pics but has cleaned up well with the removal of the price labels and a quick wipe with white spirit. Weighs just over 2.9.
