Just noticed your stats theu are excellent I've played 50 conscecutive seasons and nowhere near 35000 plus runs.
My stats are from when I was 16. I was a rubbish batsman in my teens. Twenty was a good score.
I didn't score my first fifty until I was 22, first ton when I was 28. 25 tons in 23 years, none for the last nine seasons, but came close with 97* on a Sunday game in 2009.
Best season was when I was 42. 40 innings, 7 not outs, 1724 runs, 11 fifties, 3 centuries, average 52.24
I played a lot of golf when I was young and was pretty good, got to 5 handicap.
One winter (I think that was the winter after I made my first fifty) we netted at Alf Gover's cricket school. He was wandering about in whites and was wearing his England sweater.
He watched me for a few moments and said you play golf don't you. My back lift was far too stiff, it wasn't going in the correct direction and various other things were wrong. He said pick the bat up as if you're playing a bunker shot and keep your right elbow close to your body.
That advice was the best I have had.
My last round of golf was in 1999 but the thousands of practice balls I've hit over the years hit still affects my batting in that the right hand sometimes takes over when I am off driving and it results in a horrible pulled drive to the bowler or a mistimed shot which goes nowhere.
