Like many others, I also prefer the pavilion.

If I have to field, I like to do about 10-15 overs at slips or out on the sweep. Also I'm one of these weird blokes who don't mind getting the lid and shinpads out and sticking myself under the batsman's nose, but I'll only do it for our better bowlers. I'm not that mental.

At the ripe old age of 36, I still love throwing myself around at point/cover point/cover. Much rather do that than stand at fine leg

I like to field silly mid on/off
Unfortunately I'm behind the stumps keeping or first slip

Spent last season mostly at square, deep cover or mid on. Didn't mind wherever I went really. As the youngest player in the side I often wound up running all the way down somewhere I probably shouldn't, but it worked out alright...

Point or Gully - strangely, I hate the slips.

Point/cover point/cover - one of these. Keeps me on my toes always and i am ready for those sharp catches
Age and body weight is not on my side but i hate getting moved to any other fielding position

I love to be in the slips, although my talk rate is 2 in 3 so not always get to be in there.


Other than that I always want to be on the offside, not sure why but I pick the ball up better if the bat on the offside,
When on the leg side I seem to misjudge were it's going and at what speed

I like Mid On or Mid Off.. hate anything from point to square leg and not keen on midwicket area either.

I like the ball being driven at me so Mid on/off suits, and I'm very accurate with shying at the stumps, literally hit most of the time so I get a fair few run outs with clueless batsmen taking me on.

Always disliked Square leg as the umpire either gets in the way when fielding or is a distraction in my eye line.

Sweeping...usually the longest boundary. Make use of that arm!
