Had the same thing happen to my RNS a few years back! Was dry as anything inside.

That's a real shame Batbuddy99 is probably correct lateral movement of the willow during growth can cause bats to split across across the grains

It was 3 months old.
And i wont call it a light bat, it was 2.12 when it arrived. Gave 2 coats of oil and i wouldnt call it dry at all.
