Interesting to see Maxwell bat for his partner. Must have got a rocket after the way he's got out in his last 20 innings.

I dunno, that leave in last years Big bash (or year before, no idea) was quality. I oculd watch that leave all day

India's problems stem from Dhoni being inept at being captain outside of subcontinal conditions.

Australia are playing 5 quicks plus Maxwell.

Whereas Dhoni's has an obsession with playing two spinners on non responsive surfaces. Coupled with he don't have a 6th bowler. Always chuckle when Kohli wobbles a few down.

Favour in the lack of depth in their batting as well. Pandey is a rookie and more of a top order player from what I've seen in the IPL. Jadeja is a leg side Larry. Hard to slog across the line of bouncy pitches.

Third ODI at the MCG and once again India's batsmen can't get the really big score on the board. 6/295. Virat Kohli this time made 117, his 24th ODI century and he's still only 27(he could end up with 60+ hundreds). He also became the fastest ever to 7000 ODI runs going passed de Villiers. The Duke John Hastings took a career best 4/58 as once again India's lower order couldn't apply the finish to get up to 330/350.

I find Dhoni really annoying. Seems like a right moody git, and his defensive approach makes for a boring game. 5 men in the circle and 4 out making the single an easy option rather than applying pressure.

Ishant Sharma would struggle to get anywhere near any of the other top nations attack, and his fielding is pure comedy gold. I have no idea why he keeps getting picked.

Glenn Maxwell plays perhaps his best innings in Australian colours with a match inning 96.

Maxi loves the 90s, fourth time in his ODI career he's fallen in the 90s.

Top 4 batsman keep setting up the platform and there is no one to kick the gears to give a good finish. 296 could have easily been 330 if no 5,6,7 tried to bat properly. Team combination in this series always seems to be missing an extra batsman or bowler. May be dropping Suresh Raina from the one day squad is hurting them very badly. 

Dhoni going into defensive mode shows very clearly that he doesn't trust his bowlers. He should give up captaincy and continue as wk/batsman. It's been while since Dhoni has played a match winning or long innings.

Fantastic batting by Maxwell. Faulkner/Kohli banter was good to watch. It didn't get out of control and both of kept their cool - tough but played with spirit of sportsmanship.

Anyone know why Rav Ashwin keeps getting dropped by India? He's clearly their best spinner but they drop him every time they have a chance it seems.

The key difference between both sides batting line up is that Australia have Maxwell/M. Marsh/Wade/Faulkner at 5-8. Faulkner averages 40+ rocking in at 7/8.

Whereas India has Dhoni at 5, followed Pandey/Gurkeerat/Jadeja etc. Dhoni's probably a slot too high and unlike years in the past guys like Yuvraj and Raina aren't around anymore.

Haha. Australia showing India exactly how it's done in the big leagues. The difference in their approach is evident by their bat lifts &  shuffling & intent. India certainly lost it big time in their last 3 ODIs

Looks a good wicket but both bowling lineups look poor to me
