SS Master Sangakarra Bat
« on: January 30, 2016, 02:03:16 PM »

Thought I do a quick review of this lovely Sangakarra bat which my mate got. He bought few player bats from a dealer in India.
This has the Master with 7 stars sticker which was only used by Sangakarra. You can't get bat with this sticker they only come in with Master 9000 sticker.

Around 44mm edge size
Round handle
Low mid.
Minimum concaving.
Ping is exceptional all over.

It's a SS bat not a Gray Nicolls. Sangakarra has used SS for several years, it's only since the All Star Games where he used Shane Warnes Gray nicolls bat he started to use Gray Nicoll bats.

Don't need a name in sharpie when you can tell by the sticker on this bat.

Have no doubt about this bat at all. If anyone does then try getting a bat with just this sticker which isn't available at all. This sticker was used only for Sangakarras bat.

I know mate... Was just pulling your leg based on other posts that some folks had put with names in sharpies.
On a serious note, looks indeed his bat based on profile and looks. I am not an expert on the stickering stuff so would trust your word for that.

This may come across as delusional and I know Sangakkara has been sponsored by SS for a few years but a guy down the pub just tried to convince me that not every bat he's used over the last few seasons has been made for him by SS, pffft, what does he know.

Newbery, sorry - slip of the fingers. Nobody can be certain if all his bats are made by SS or not.
Bit of a Gray area...

He has only after that All Star games started using Gray Nicolls as mentioned.
He been using only SS bats for few years, in thr 2015 world cup and county cricket for Surrey.

Everyone on here think everything is fake.

If you want to believe that that's up to you mate. But everyone knows that the stickers on a bat are no guarantee of what brand it really is.
Were you look through some older pictures of Sanga batting you'd notice a lack of edge stamps on some of his bats, and the Hammer Edge sheet applied to said bats could be seen as a bit of a clue as to who made them ;)
