No real surprise given the track record of this company.

Don't forget, that much like with Cricmart, should you actually receive your goods, you'll be left hanging if/when they break.

The below is taken from their returns policy. 2 month warranty? Yes please!

''Note About Damaged Bats :

Nothing specific to Cricmart, but i probably have a rotten luck with SS & TON cricket bats. 3 bats purchased till now and handle gave up on all of them ... If i am not looking for SS Gladiator or TON PE at cheaper price, then i have no business with Cricmart or OLS, atleast in my opinion.

Not worth the hassle to save a few dollars or pounds. Go local or buy online from the country you are based in. I would speak to someone at paypal.  Good luck

Currently living in Southern California, USA. There are only a few retailers here and the nearest one is 600 miles from my home (ProCricShop - San Jose). Convenient option is to buy online. Online purchases has worked well with forum retailers - IJC, Vitas, Uzi, H4L, B3 etc. OLS is a different beast altogether.

I bought a ton le from Uzi, probably could have got it cheaper elsewhere but chose Uzi, 3 games in and the handle snapped. Sent to Uzi, who sent it to SS repairers here(hunts) who sent back to me with its new handle, looking brand new, with updated stickers. Was a no hassle repair.

Not sure how easy it would have been elsewhere.

I've had good and bad dealings with OLS.  When it goes as planned, no worries, but at the slightest glitch, PayPal dispute is the only way to go.

Excuses I've gotten:
Factory burned down, relocation, factory flooded, unable to retrieve the customs I needed, already sent (no tracking - so BS)  All of this with one order of 150 pounds.

Then I ordered club kit and player kit at around 1.000 pounds, and it took 7 days from order to delivery. Funny company that..

Some of my other team members have been buying from OLS for years now and never seemed to have any problems. I am probably the first one in my team to face this hiccup. He gave me BS reasons too and the best one is this - "Please wait for FedEx to deliver (even after an investigation was opened), they usually find the missing packages and deliver within 3 to 4 months". Now this tipped me off since no one in the world waits 3~4 months for a product unless its some kind of pre-order. I started looking for buyer protection in PayPal and found the dispute method.

I bought a SS Maximus, TON PE and SS Limited Edition bat from Jason Mellet. Any time i had a problem with the bat, i sent it back to him, he apologized and offered to replace with a Hammer ST  bat or a full refund. He mentioned that he has trouble with SS on warranty claims since they don't have a local rep in USA. Probably UK has a local rep from SS or TON and it might be easier that way.

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope it works out for you. We have ordered a lot of stuff for our club in CT from OLS and have been lucky enough to survive the orders without hiccups. Yes, we had issues regarding his claims of oiling and knocking service which turns out to be non-existent. [emoji1]
I would say you did the right thing by opening Paypal dispute..also post on his FB page asking him to revert back to you. Good luck again..keep us posted.

Hope it works out in your favor. That reason alone should be good enough for someone to stay clear of them even if they have had a high success rate in the past.

Just a thought, is your PayPal account linked to a credit card, possibly some insurance via the card company?

I don't have a credit card linked to PayPal. So CC Insurance route is not an option for me ...

Just been reading things on this blog.
Few things just came to my mind, if the goods were sent via courier, wouldn't be they insured???
I think yes, all goods sent via courier are insured. So logically you should put a claim with the courier
Company and cc the same to OLS so that he may pressurise the courier company to settle the claim.
It would be unfair to stop payment to OLS who has also paid ahead to the company for the product.
So guys seriously the courier company should be taken to task.

Unfortunately only ols as the sender can take the courier to task, and when he's unwilling to and not wanting to reply to emails. How on earth do you force that??

If courier keep on missing the packages, then either OLS will shut operations or the courier will.
Claim should be from from the consignee.... The consignor can surely help in exerting pressure.
consignee should lodge a protest and complaint with the courier company.
Also in this case earlier the courier said they have delivered and later it's been communicated as missing,
The courier company should also be taken to task. Unless there business and name is affected, they will
Continue to misplace the couriers!!!!

@smilley792 is correct in this aspect. There are two problems here. One OLS didn't declare the correct value of the items. To get away with customs charge they declared the value as 195 USD. I had explicitly asked him to declare the correct value but that didn't happen. Second, only the sender can request for a refund. Receiver cannot request for a refund from FedEx in any case. I had a similar issue with Amazon and their handling was very simple. It was a case of missing package. Amazon refunded me the amount and followed up with FedEx investigation. FedEx finally discovered it somewhere and delivered it to me. I reached out to Amazon and they gave a return shipping label to send the product back to them. I don't expect this level of professionalism from OLS, but if only he & DEUS express can file a claim with FedEx .. then they should sort it out.

Despite all this i did reach out to DEUS express and they slammed the phone on my face saying that only the person who booked the package with them can raise a refund request. So that option has been shot down ...
