Damn this pesky internet. Did anyone see Vaughan calling for KP to be in the squad again? Vaughan was a great player and captain but really grinds my gears as a media figure.

Vaughan was a bloody lucky captain.

And he was a very good player, but not great. Great at making good deliveries look like jaffas mind you.

He says what the people who pay him want him to say.

The KP ship has sailed. It's one thing murdering grade bowlers in domestic T20 ... ;)

I think Vaughan likes to say things to get a reaction these days.
I don't think he can honestly believe half the crap he comes out with!

I wonder if KP is giving him back handers to keep his name in the media to stir up s**t.

To be fair he ticks the boxes, good form, experienced, match winner. However is also ticks other boxes; Arrogant, Individual, big mouthed... And thats why we love him.

There are plenty of players you can pick from all over the world that should have had more chances but they accept that it wont happen. KP hasnt done this yet

he does dine out on the 2005 ashes quite a lot....marvellous thou it was we did have one of the most potent bowling attacks in our history and proper players at the top of their game like tresco,kp and flintoff

and the very underrated Geraint jones(made some good contibutions down the order)

but yes, he loves himself

haha

It's the sensationalism that grinds me, like he thinks he's some kind of revelatory oracle, unfurling hitherto unknown cricketing wisdom on the unsuspecting public. "Joe Root can bat" "KP hits the ball a long way" "Ben Stokes is an exciting prospect"

When you put it that way, he sounds like the Michael Owen of cricket commentary!

I think we would probably agree that Nick Knight is the Michael Owen of cricket commentary!

Please don't start busting out the terrible Michael Owen jokes haha "If England win all of their matches they will win this Tournament."

England’s not selected for World T20 XI not bad either: Wright, Lumb, KP, Taylor, Bopara, Bairstow, Patel, Woakes, Broad, Plunkett, Tredwell

No Carberry? Oh yeah gone the days... Fresh blood! KP wont be around in 10 years.. These guys will, long term plans.
That's a pet hate of mine from all England teams at major tournaments. We've picked a team that can go forward with long term plans..... You have 2 or 4 years prior for that, pick the best 11 blokes to win the tournament, that's what world cups are for. Winning.

Turns out Bayliss has never seen Dawson play. Who could have pushed for his selection over Parry or Fat Sam? 🤔
