Makes me wonder how come SS has become a choice for many top players now. From recent memory I can recollect Haddin and Moeen using SS stickered as Kookaburra. Pretty much majority of Indian and Sri Lankan team use SS.

I would add 'quality' since Sareen Sports are one of the biggest purchaser of clefts from J.S Wright.

^ Presumably pros are getting quality sticks Other wise they wouldn't be flocking there, right.

It's pretty irrelevant where pros get their bats from, it's not like the 'normal' bats are similar quality ! Anything we as the paying public buy is basically not as good so whether ss or anyone make for x y or z doesn't make your 250 quid special any better than another really. Even if we pay 300+ it's still not really a pro quality bat as the willow is kept back.

Very good point Sir!!  Doesn't matter if the sticker on the bat says "players bat/model/edition" it will never be as good as a genuine players bat because their willow never makes it to the general public

Not entirely true.

Our man at b and s just proved that differently.

And at b3, the pros pick from the same crown cleft rack as members on here get to.

On the contrary, I think general public is getting bats that are prettier (face) and better finished. Some Pro bats I have seen don't have good finish.

Untrue B3 professionals do not use crown they use 3 and 2 stripe.

No pro has ever had a crown.

i'd like to classify myself as a pro if crown bats distinctly qualify me in doing so. However, I am sure that the whole of the Herts divisional cricket would say otherwise  ;)

Pro players tend to get bats sent to them direct from the manufacturer or distributor, then they will select there favourite ones for matches out of around 7 bats, they will use the others for practice and have as backup in case there match bat breaks. A lot of pr players will visit factories whilst touring and will pick bats off the shelf that they like the feel off.
So pro's don't always get the special treatment that you might think. You guys on here probably get looked after by the forum sponsors better than most pro players. It is not always the bats these guys are just the best at what they do. Seen a lot of overseas pro's using what I could only describe as planks, and the ball would go miles.
