That is one of the best ones I've seen on here in ages!

Go out and buy a bat, any bat (actually get 3).
Apply a helicopter scoff sheet to one, a fibreglass scuff sheet to one and leave the 3rd one naked.

Leave them all untouched for a few years then check back on them. I guarantee none of them will have de-laminated! It has nothing to do with scuff sheets being applied or not...

No pal it caused by the pressed area in on the face coming away from the softer under wood causing a hollowing sound mate.

Really good players normally get it localised in the middle area us club biffers tend to get it due to the bats old age or usage.

You can sometimes hear a double sound like a crack.

Scuff sheets will not protect you from delamination much hope this helps pal

I don't entirely disagree with you, but there is a nice way to answer someones question and a not so nice way. We've all been new on here at some point and asked questions that might be obvious to others, all that's needed is a straight answer.

Oh dear what have I started!

I read somewhere that as the bat is dryer with a scuff sheet on it that a bat is more likely to suffer from it. But I'm obviously wrong

I'll get this out the way now, and let everyone take a dig at me on the back of itif they feel the need to do so. 
As well as a fat stomach I have a fairly thick skin anyway...

@e4sby obviously has an issue with me, (and a couple of people clearly agree with him), which I don't really have a problem with. If you like me great, if you don't, I probably wouldn't like me either as I can know I can be a bit of a tit sometimes - I'll put both hands up and admit that.

As for making sarcastic comments, that is just me I'm afraid. Like it or loathe it, I'm not changing for some bloke on the interweb. If I have come across as whatever an emoji473846 I can only apologise.
