Why start so late and finish so early.. Barely get many games !

Sunday side innit. We have fixtures scheduled right until the end of September, although 3 weeks out of 4 in August are currently TBC.

Got an email earlier from our Membership secretary asking more people to turn up for our last 3 Thursday nets; we've had a couple of new people turn up recently and it's not the best impression when there's only around 7/8 of us being there on a regular basis.

Yeah, where would be the best place to get all this without the service?

See my below quote I got last year. Just for basic materials.

Following your call last week we can offer Supply of a Double Bay Cage and Netting system (18m x 7.2m x 3.6m) with new mats for the batting and bowling wickets on each bay (lengths up to 9m x 2m) with vermin netting specified for a cost of £7,600 + VAT

Yeah it was good ta, left just before 12 to watch the Brighton game.

I trimmed the hedges, then applied the old netting over the fence/hedge an pegged the bottom into the ground...........hopefully no more lost balls....

Good luck tomorrow @Woodyspin (ps the email didn't work to send the docs through).

First league game and we won.  We made 175ao off of about 36 and then bowled them out for about 120.  I was pretty much a bystander and contributed almost nothing to the game but hey that's cricket I guess.

3 week break now as I go off on holiday.  Two weeks away but leaving on a Sunday and coming back on a Sunday means missing three games (we play on a Sunday) bloody women!!!!

@Churchy1989 I play in the USA, getting pretty hot down here in the south right now, all the pitches are artificial and in a pretty bad way which has been an interesting challenge to my very poor cricket skills!!!!

Well the indoor cricket is over for the winter for me after league playoffs last night, won the first game and lost our second, never mind. Batted pretty well in both and the surprise announcement 2 minutes before the game that I was keeping went fine, but you know your mind's not set for indoor cricket anymore when you deal with a short ball by rocking back and aiming a massive pull over square leg! Roll on the real stuff.

@play-yourself-in  Do you get a decent turn out at your club? Many teams in our league?
Also do many USA players play? i know that a few Baseball players get involed.  Travis Brit for one, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT, IT IS A MUST WATCH!

I'm not sure Travis Birt was ever an actual baseball player, think it's just a reference to him whacking it home run style!

@Churchy1989 we have a good number of players in our team, it's my first season here but the league has 15 teams in it.  We play everyone at 40/40 then the league splits and you play the teams in your half at 20/20.

Most of the players are South Asian, there is one team from the Caribbean (they win it most years) but I've been informed that I'll be the only Brit playing in the league.  The standard is good (way above my level) so it will be a challenge to be honest.

Sadly no Americans playing yet but maybe in the future!

I'm jealous that people have started playing already, both our Saturday and Sunday teams are due to start their season this weekend nut with the amount of rain we have had I'm not getting too excited yet, I reckon it could be May before we see any cricket. Hope the cricket and the weather Gods get together and prove me wrong though. What do you guys reckon how are your pitches holding up?? I'm based in the North-West
