The wheels have well and tricky come off for us over the last 6 weeks. From topping the table to being bowled out for 98 last week and 83 this week.

Middle table mediocrity beckons and a reform for next season required.....and some serious work on our square over the winter.

sigh, you really just don't get it.  It's not about having balls..having minerals.. If you really think cricket even at pro level requires minerals then you know nothing. It's got nothing to do with fronting up, having bottle. It's our hobby as amateurs ffs, not a battlefield. You are simply showing how deep rooted the issue is.

Sure, you know.. Being paid buckets of money to face a Ball or potentially being blown up, shot or maimed each day on ops.. Yeah you're right.. Cricketers need minerals.

I think you guys are confusing what takes minerals and what is a hobby or cushy life

Yeh mixture of broken machinery and grounds man being away, last 2 home games I've been caught trying to avoid getting scones whilst pressing forward to block a length delivery 🙈 Natural instinct kicks in and you raise ur hands/bat to stop it from smashing u in the face/grille sadly.

For what it's worth. I think supporting a family on low income and not giving up is heroic too.

Certain personalities attract more attention from opposition than others, someone that only played the game for their own stats and with no regard for even trying to win the game for their club would cop some from most cricketers I know.

Won my first piece of Silverware at the weekend as 1st XI captain. Apart from me being caught behind off the box for 4 and going wicketless in 7 overs it was one of the best all round games we have played as a team this year! I managed to pouch a steepler to claim the victory. Even managed to give 2 13 year olds a bowl at important times in the match and they both shone. Plenty of positives for the last 2 fixtures this season for the season ahead.

We sorted our promotion this weekend with a fairly uncompromising win. Just need 5 points to with the league.
We got 324-4 from our 40 overs and they got 237-7 in reply. To be fair they did go for it at the start and made sure they got all the batting points they could.
