Boys, I was there on Day 1- pouring rain all morning, just like home. The beer is 3 percent too, and only served in schooner size (like half pints), and cost £3 per cup. RUBBISH.

On the plus side I sat amongst 20 pirates who were great fun!!!

Nice venue too, big ground.

Hopefully Hughes can get a few in the 2nd innings but even then when Katich returns I doubt he'll keep his place.

Just about to leave for the test today, and the weather looks great for once. Could you believe my disappointment on day 1- I went expecting sun, beer, Hughes and Ponting to make millions and actually got rain, half pints on low alcohol beer, and 10 balls between the two players!

Looks set for a big day today, hopefully Hughes and Punter can get stuck in. The press out here are HYPER critical of all the team here, it really is strange!

He's on 8 from 34 deliveries. But seems eager to start racking the runs up!
So two very attacking batsmen obviously on strict instructions to take it slowly! How long before they start playing more attacking shots???
