Yes, just got an email from James saying, this year they have 2 grades if butterfly. Just like they posted on FB.

@Jake.. Didn't know that you have focus butterfly for that price including shipping. My Aldred butterfly almost costed me around 200 pounds including shipping and also paypal comission. So, this time went with Laver. Next butterfly is from you jake...

That is crazy money for a butterfly cleft, surely the willow merchants would sell it as grade 3 or 4, so that is a crazy price.

Yes JD  :D,

Sound is perfectly OK with me, when there is a huge price difference and for the level of cricket we play here, Butterfly properly knocked in is more than enough.

Did anyone see the L&W Butterfly that was on their Facebook? Had the same issue of the toe being different widths as on a previous thread. Not convinced by them at the moment.

that really does look like a big discrepancy!

USA mate. Mostly here we play on mats. No proper ground mate. Grass is not trimmed for most of the games. Pitch under the mat not cared properly.

Whilst I still think that £350 pounds is a lot of money for any butterfly bat, on looking at the pictures on Facebook again, that has to be one of the best looking bats I have ever seen (toe not withstanding). There is something quite unique about it. Just hope it pings as well as it looks for that money.

Also the cheap quality rock hard balls used in some local leagues.

Have to agree this is crazy money for the lowest grade of willow there is.

Finally, the Laver Butterfly arrived today. Little disappointed by the bat specs I received in couple of aspects, out of all the butterfly's I have seen this is the best one. The weight I asked for is 2.11 and the bat I received is around 2' 12 to 2'13 and feels bottom heavy specifically. Also asked for thicker handle and the bat I received has a handle like a toothpick. Haven't seen a handle that thin on a laver before. I guess need to put up around 3 grips all together to get the desired thickness and also to get the lighter feel. Haven't checked the Edge size and Spine numbers yet, but here are the pics for judgement.

Here are more details regarding the bat:

Weight expected was 2.11 but turns out to be 2 lb 12.1 ounces with single grip. Current bat I am using is about 2lb 10.1 ounces. so, feels a bit heavy, but  I feel that there is lot more wood in the bat for 2 more ounces. That is the reason for me to keep the bat rather returning it.
Edges 39 mm both sides
Spines at the highest point is 65 mm.
By default expected a round toe, so din't mention it during the order but turned out to be a square toe and look decent to me.
The toe size is exactly 30.1 mm, Even though the toe is wonky a bit, i measured the toe in the middle of the bat where it looked uniform.

Another wonky toe? Looks a lovely bit of willow but a slightly underwhelming bat for 2.12
