England potentials - who's out there?
« on: June 01, 2016, 04:41:19 PM »

So, CBF county fans, let's hear your scouting tips. Who's out there in the county setups that has potential for an England career, in any format? Must be completely uncapped and not previously involved in England squads, the younger and more unheard of the better. Who are your local heroes you think might get a game for their country one day, or who you'd like to see play?

I'll kick you off with one suggestion - Jack Taylor, of Gloucestershire. Off-spinning all-rounder, definite potential for limited overs. 24, gets decent action on the ball and takes a fair amounts of wickets, hits big and regularly pulls off implausible run chases from 7/8 in the order. Would have comfortably made the North v South one-day game if it took place last year.

My cheat entry as he's got a test cap, although played as a bowler when he's a batsman - Scott Borthwick, potentially a replacement for Compton, could go straight in at 3 or bat 5 with Vince moving up the order.

Mason Crane - young Hampshire leg spinner, looks a very good prospect.

I think Nick Gubbins will play for England at some point.

Isn't Kohler-Codmore scoring runs for fun at the moment?
If he keeps that up he may be in line for a call up

Keaton Jennings had a decent start to the year up at Durham but not sure what he's done recently

At Yorkshire, Matt Fisher is a nailed on certainty - the kid has got serious wheels and a good head on his shoulders.

Another one I'm starting to wonder about is Brett D'Oliveira.  A bit older, but he has followed the Smith/White/Borthwick route of leg spinner to top order bat, and is looking classy as all hell doing it.  The difference is, he still bowls the leggies.

Get mills in the limited overs squad
1 ball under 90mph in his first over and got Gayle with a 93.3mph Yorker. Did him for pace
