Was impressed at the size and pick up. They were 2'11 but all felt really light. The only issue I'd see is that they wouldn't fit in traditional bat covers or covers in bags.

I have one coming to me on Wednesday for knocking. Owner has a GN XP70 1200, GN Silver and as of Friday a XP80 2000. I have asked him to bring around all three for comparison photos. I'll post a link to my photos next week and the obligatory post knock video when done.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the rebound on XP80. It's on my list but have had mixed thoughts about it.

Have to import it from one of the retailers in Australia, although a cheaper option of your not fussed about the stickers or bow just the profile would be seeing if b3 had suitable clefts and asking them for a replica

They aren't highlighted at all in the brochure for some reason. Just listed as models in ranges, very easy to regard them as grades within those ranges

We saw the launch for 2017 a few weeks ago, I'll see our rep again fairly soon I guess, might be able to sneak photos but may not be allowed to be released until after the lords show in September

One of the lads from my club has a pair of the UK release versions - his mate works for GN so sends him prototype bats and spare stash all the time.

Put it this way, both weigh 2.10.5, both have 50 mm edges and the pick up's are simply outrageous. I thought they were both a light 2.9 at first. Quite a high middle and very concaved, the spine isn't a great deal bigger than the edges - almost like a 'W' shape

So, like the new M& H bats.

AUS version big bats sound more chunkier.

Sounds like the NC654 that everyone was hating on

Not far off from the M&H shape in all honesty, the only major difference is we aren't lied to regarding the source! On a personal note I think the shape is a little silly, you're not actually meant to use the edges so why have them bigger than other areas of the blade? If you're a good enough batsmen you'd be looking for maximum coverage off the middle, not the edge...

But I'm sure it'll sell well!

Not a massive fan of concave do bats with huge edges but the xp80 really takes my fancy !! The only issue is the price couldn't justify that would much rather have a custom made from a smaller brand

They have little to no concaving and the edges are small by todays standards.

yes sort of, IMO because of the huge spine it gives the impression of being concaved, think traditional profile bat 30mm edges full profile then add a additional  sharp spine on top. then reduce the toes and shoulders. = XP80
