My bats have a dead weight between 2lb9 and 2lb12

That's with a scuff sheet applied and 1.5 grips. As long as it feels well balanced and is in my weight range I can use them equally as badly!

I'm all over the shop too...I'm not sure it matters that much. I was using 2lb 10, my elbow and shoulder gave out so changed to 2lb 8 which was fine, now it's recovered a bit I used a 2 lb 12 one on Saturday and I've got a 2lb 10 in the post to me.

But....my club mate buddy and bat obsessive sent his bat back to m and h to have the weight adjusted 3 times. I thought he was mad.
Now it's 'right' he is scoring runs. Who am I to say he's nuts?

If I could pick my ideal weight (but it depends on the pick up!!) it would be 2 lb 9 or 10.

When I went to choose a bat a salix years ago and said I wanted 2lb 8 Or 9 Andrew told me to pick from the box and weigh them later. So basically forget the exact weight.
I thought that was great advise .

I use a 2lb 12 just because that was by far the best bat I saw that day any weight is fine to use for me

2lb9oz - Kook Verve 800 is my current match bat. The weight and balance of this bat works very well for me ...

I start from 2lb9oz then mod my bats to end up 2lb6-7oz ( ive got a 'monster' 2lb7.5oz being made for me a.t.m....'what a beast'!  ;) ). I wish i could use a heavy bat but i played with light bats growing up and into my twenties , so its what i know . Plus , im older now , my eyes are going , ive got a bad back and arthritis. ...so my time to change has well and truly passed .

2.9 - 2.10 between this range with mid to high middles. Prefer the pick up on higher middle bats and bat top of the order so seems to make sense. But to me all my bats feel good to me and I don't have scales at home but to me they feel that. I know my match bat is 2.97 but that's it.   I also try not to weigh a bat when I get one just go on finished weight pick up and with gloves on

2lb 8 - 2lb 10. Tried going up to a 2lb 13 and a 2lb 14 but just too heavy for me; will put away til I'm a bit stronger. Although realistically, not needed as I'm a timer of the ball as opposed to brute strength.

Around 2'9.

Play a lot of cuts/pulls so the lighter bat helps.

I used 2 4 for a while, (the Bradman influence) but realised it didn't work for me, so now I am using 2 10 to 2 12 as a rule. Being a sucker for a bat, I am not averse to buying either side of this, but typically for the bats I actually use, this is the range. The reason, I feel I can play the shots I want and get enough power.

Interesting range of weights guys.
Here's how times change - this is a Bradman era quote: 'Ponsford used a heavy bat—2 pounds 10 ounces (1.2 kg)—nicknamed "Big Bertha".'

2.7 3/4 to 2.9 1/2. Just through experience I have found this range suits me. Tried lower and higher and I find this just right when the ball is fast and swinging.
