As is their privilege , they keep a lot of info secret , there are other identifying features on your bat that prove it is what it is , trying to stop cheap copies being sold off as genuine gray nicolls , internet is full of fake bats & stickers , it also identifies bats for warranty claims & individual special blades   stu has an amazing memory

@Aussiecollector , who does the pressing of the bats? Or is that linked in with the stamps or does 'Stu' press them all?

Edge - I can understand the confusion when theres no solid explanation published by the manufacturer. And if i had a GN made in melb that came with S stamped into it id probably like to assume that must mean Stuart made it too. Dunno about I and J but again, if consecutive years as you say likely confirms its a code for when a bat was made rather than who made it. Itd be a shame if finding out who made your bat (of the local handmade stuff) wasn't as simple as checking for a particular manufactures stamp but I can't say im overly concerned whether mine was made by Stuart or the work-experience kid. The bat is what it is....
It'd be nice if it was easy wouldn't it. Just to confuse things more,  I've checked again and my two are stamped I/S and J/T on the shoulders, so either could be date or maker.

50+ I bought recently has a T stamp on one shoulder & nothing on the other, plus an A stamp near the toe. Looks like mine was made by the ghost at GN this year  :(

Mine was probably made by Muzza on a work for the dole program.

@d7bow  all the guys can press the bats just depends on the day  & what they are making  there is no set output ie today we are making 20 warners for example   stu is the master though & has that touch you just can't teach  out of the approx 200 big bats made so far  stu has done about 20 to 30  no need to stamp twice on the big bats as no one else is making them like the boys can     it is a unique place the mill

Interestingly my GN Players has 0 on each of the shoulders. It's about six years old and a stunning bit of willow - both in looks and pickup. I've always wondered what the stamping meant.

'Left' and 'Right' so you know you are facing the right way.

Dredging this one up. Just wondering what the deal is with the "A" stamped on the back down near the toe? Looking at pictures on here im pretty sure Ive seen two GN 50+, one with the A stamp, the other without. If it indicates the grade of willow,  should both bats be sold at the same price? I assume they are. Can anyone clarify? Thnx
