Wow, those stickers are absolutely horrendous.

I love seeing progression and updated branding (GM have done this well) but newbery have always stood for quality, producing high class bats but their change in styling over the past couple of years has put me off buying their bats. I've had 3 bats in the past with the black/gold stickers and they looked timeless.

They're probably trying to appeal to the hit and giggles t20 market now, but in my opinion they've gone way backwards.

I'M gonna put some positives out there for Newbs on this. Slightly worryingly Cam @WalkingWicket37 seems to be referring to some sort of mid-life crisis, nearing the half century mark myself but so far I've not started listening to Drake(mofo)/got myself an open top sports car and have a blonde sort on the side. If this is to come GOD DAAAAAM bring it on  !!

The white stickers look good, as do the red ones, as do the near transparent ones-although they won't advertise the brand much.Bypassing the orange swizzle stick one.

I suspect like most of us kit and bat buyers we grew up with quality, having a Newbery bat was the ultimate, many times I've driven to the Hove shop to get one.

Sooooo.. I hope they return to being one of the best brands out there.

That's very diplomatic don't ya think?

Ooops - put in GN thread by mistake.

Was just wondering if any of you guys there had seen any thing of the Stretton Fox collaboration - wasn't that suppose to be with Newbury?

Having whistled past the stand this morning and taking only a glance, the orangey stickers do not look nice at all, they cheapen the brand and make it look a bit of a novelty. They also don't work too well on the softs.

The nearly transparent stickers look much nicer, but the blue on the new blue bat looks the most fantastic.

Force is definitely not with the blinding chewing-gum orange!!!

There was nothing wrong with their branding, why such a drastic turn I wonder.

Their Kudos bats were just killers, both in looks and performance . GT was another beaut.

The thing I've never really understood is that GM and Newbery make their bats in a very similar way (admittedly the Newbery machine is older, having originally made Slazenger bats) but both are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum in marketing them.

One is all about saying how they are handmade, whereas the other is keen to mention how high tech and DXM it is.

Tim Keeley doesn't make Newbery bats?

Newbery do outsource to Tim/Nick's company. However they don't make any bats really these days totally by hand, they use CNC - their machine is an earlier version of GM's (which they purchased from Slazenger when Slazenger moved production away from Yorkshire)

Tim Keeley doesn't make Newbery bats?

Tim Keeley owns a CNC machine from what I believe, hence being able to make quite so many bats each year

Edit: Tom beat me to it!
