Thought the kiwi's put up a good show apart from the last test. Better than what the Aussies have done on the subcontinent.

Pretty sure every single test match against pak, ind and SL recently was a thrashing

Surely you realise by now the ones eager to post and slay are the ones that don't watch cricket.
There the ones that just look on cricinfo and say " yep that team lost must have been a beating" or "he didn't take a wicket drop him"

You watch the games, you know that just cos it was a win doesn't mean they weren't pushed, and just because someone didn't get a wicket doesn't mean they didn't bowl well.

Absolutely - but it is lovely to see someone else being poo and getting it in the neck from their own media, it's most refreshing.

The difference though between Aussie media and English media Fattus is even when England are winning they call for heads to roll and players to be dropped and ask when captains are retiring   ;)

Adam Voges has suffered a concussion after being hit on the back of the helmet in a Sheffield Shield game.

Wishing him a speedy recovery, but it goes to show that sending the Test players back to the Shield between games may not have been the wisest of moves

Faf's at it again - possible ball tampering

Did I miss something but I thought most teams chew sweets to shine the ball?

The video of voges getting hit looks horrible:

Looks like he was using a shrey helmet with no protection at the back

Ouch.. To be honest, the art of playing the quick ball aimed at the body has gone. Voges, Ferguson. Pujura etc have all shown a real weaknesses within the last week.

Boycott has mentioned that in an era with helmets, the modern batsmen doesn't keep their eye on the short ball long enough. They have a false sense of security.

Boycs is right, he is most of the time. But having been hit 3 times in the head or face most of us wear lids in amateur cricket all the time...

If you were curious about back-in-the-day you tube micheal holding to brian close at the Oval(where Holding got a warning for short pitched bowling)

there is one delivery Close get's his head out the way a split second before being cleaned out totally-the shows how quick youre reactions can be if you watch the ball

but.....batting without a lid these days is madness.

.....the ideal would be : wear a lid , bat like you're not wearing one .

Australia's squad for the day/night Test has been announced with the minimum of three debutants.

David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith, Peter Handscomb, Nic Maddinson, Matthew Wade (wk), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird, Chadd Sayers.

Renshaw, Handscomb and Maddinson get their Baggy Greens with a potential debut for seamer Chadd Sayers as well. Wade reclaims the gloves as well. The hapless Lyon keeps his slot after O'Keefe pulled his calf.

What a joke, Wade might average 5 or so more with the but bat will cost us with his awful keeping, not sure how Nevill gets the blame for a (No Swearing Please) top 6. Hope they give these guy's a few tests though, chopping and changing won't achieve anything.

This is mid 90's England stuff.
Hanscomb and Renshaw are both pomms!
