Sounds like the 6 Dollar Man.

We could rebuild him. But the budget only stretches to plasters.

Funny you say that.....ive gone through about 12 rollsof kinesiology tape this season - so I'm at least the $120 man !
....which reminds me , i forgot to add achilles tendonitis in both legs to the list ! Oh dear , its depressing when you list it all ! ;)

I thought the knee pads were to get moved up the batting order  ;) :D

I already open , so no higher to go . Could always circle back round to 11 !

Nothing but admiration for you  still playing with all that  a good many would have been finished shows your enthusiasm for the game.

That actually means a lot more to me than anyone might realise . Sometimes its hard to keep going when you know your performance is never what it could or should be ( for example , until last year i always felt like a gun fielder , now i feel like a liability ; i can no longer front foot drive like i used to. I can't get my weight over my knee so i tend to drive at the top of the bounce now /punch over the infield/ drive with a straight front leg , or don't play the shot) . Its challenging to readjust your game to suit your injuries and ailments.
One thing that helps stay motivated .....I've got 14 bats , and i refuse to retire until I've used all of them for at least a season or two each !  :)

I have this pain in my neck for ages, it is a sort of nagging pain, playing cricket seems to irate it and it seems to flare up every time I buy a new bat.  On the plus side she has put up with me for nearly 25 years, and makes the best Samosa, and it very beautiful

The key here is that although it's painful for you your still enjoying  playing if you weren't  with all of the above and more you Wouldn't do it.  Also There's  nothing wrong with re adjusting your game to suit your alments I was also a gun fielder but no longer are and sometimes feel a liability but. Then i remember I am still on the field playing and a good many better players than me have given up playing.

Oh yeah .....here's a good one : the 3rd grade keeper at my club dislocated his hip and shoulder in the same /first game of the season . He's not been to training since/ and according  to the guys in 3's he's still in agony every week , but has managed to play  (and captain) every game of the season so far ( this weekend is the last before finals , so he's almost got through the whole season ) .

That's commitment! Too many players pull out these days with minor ailments, we've become too soft (clearly not this thread  ;)), but this guy is 'Rambo' Full respect!!!

These must be highly contagious as I'm also a sufferer

4 atheroscopies on the right knee since ACL ruptured in '95, atheritic now, will need a new joint sometime soon. I can take hope from one of the squad who's had 2 knee replacements and is still playing

I'm suffering from ingorged muffin tops and large swelling of the mid rift. But as tonight's kebab has foretold, this may be a life long problem........

Other than being fat, I now the proud owner of a broken knuckle after a crap attempt at catching the ball at our clubs nets. Thats me done for 5 or 6 weeks 🙁🙁🙁
