So just a serious question.

Can anyone claim they've had a bad Keeley bat (no matter what brand stickers on it)? I don't recall seeing a single bad review of bat that was truly made by them, which kind of boggles the mind.

Had a newbery kudos sps from few years ago when TK was supposedly still making them. While the ping was phenomenal, the shoulders were quite thin, and the bat broke near the handle/shoulder in about a month of use. Would certainly classify that as a bad bat considering the design.

Probably the bit at the other end of the handle.

Not in the slightest, Hales would have struggled to get it off the square with that one

I have seen loads go like that BB had several issues with the bats going in that area.

Looks to be sorted now though

I've had two dozen, only one was less than very good.

Do you know what they did to fix that - Any noticeable difference? Something like thicker shoulder or a different handle  ?

Widened the gaps between the shock absorbers in the handle.

The old bats the shoulders were thinned to get the weights down and handles Were too thick for the shoulders. From what I have seen of late they have combatted this with thinner handles and thicker shoulders

^ Do you know how long ago this change was made?

I have a Keeley (newbery blitz shape) that has normal (not thick/not thin) shoulders and cork insert handles not as wide as Buzz's. I got it 1.5/2 years ago.

I've seen both (and other) types of handle on a wide variety of Keeley made bats.

When did you get your B.B. could just be a newer handle you’ve got, I very much doubt buzz is wrong!
