If County cricket was fair, Yorkshire would be starting on –47 points in the second division along with Durham.

And David Willey and Jack Brooks would be helping Northants mount a bid for their first Championship title?

Absolutely this.
Durham have been treated like second class citizens compared to Yorkshire, who are effectively no longer a going concern as a club.

Selective view of facts. WOR Durham needed an ECB bailout, Yorkshire have benefactors, the same as many counties.

Yes, we have a couple of imports. Though fewer than the players we lose to England and fewer than any other county. We should be ashamed!

Good luck. If it does come in you actually will have more money than its possible to buy cricket bats.

I tell you want, its entirely feasible.  I wonder if you get your money back if one lets you down?

Put bluntly, that might be an argument against the system.

You are also, sadly, wrong.

Look at last seasons top three;
Middlesex lost Finn for three games and, if you generously include breaks for being dropped, Compton for five.
Somerset....none
Yorkshire lost Root for 14, YJB for 13, Rashid for six, Plunkett 5, Willey 3.

Okay, some of those were actual internationals. But many were 12th man duties or rest...

Lancashire will lose as many test players as you guys will!!!!!

I think by the end of the summer we will lose more than you guys will.

We have some talented young guns....

I don't notice Lancashire losing anyone - Haseeb and Anderson are allowed to play from the off!

Interesting bet and it might go close!

one thing that might scupper you is if Westley and Vince are going well they might get an England call-up. I think for the rest the ship has sailed

Vince is probably a way down the pecking order at the moment, given Westley and Livingstone did proportionately better for the Lions over the winter.

The guy I was most worried about was Westley and a call up but I can't see England changing Jennings/Hameed unless injury/something going horribly wrong with on of them.

I think eary season runs will count for a lot. I could see Vince getting another shot should he be in the runs when a spot opens up. Livingstone is a talent no doubt, lets see him do it against the swinging ball before he is considered for the test team. believe he only had one ton last season in the championship.

Northeast from Kent scored some big runs last season, how did his stats compare to Westley in Division 2?

I'm afraid much as quite as few of us are fans of Vince he did the exact thing during the tests last year the selectors don't want to see.....did not learn from his mistakes, out the same way every time. That will not cut it at top level and I think he is a super player. Dont forget these guys have ramprakash and Thorpe on tap to speak to. Ramps have not of made it at England level but show me a better technical batsman English qualified in the last 20 years- maybe there is one I certainly could not name anyone better.
Westley I think could be there or thereabouts, seems to be improving and Sam northeast had a great year last year and could finally be fulfilling his potential.

Gut feeling Jennings is not the answer, Hameed certainly has huge potential.

We(England!) need to have 6 bolt on certainties before we set foot in Australia..batting wise.

What about Joe Clarke from Worcestershire, He had a good year last year and played well for the lions, the north and most recently for the MCC against Middlesex.
