Clarke again....very very highly rated as as very young player, like Northeast who broke every junior record going.

Could be that English players mature a bit later rather than sub continent players, or maybe just because the ball moves a lot more in England I don't know.

Huge potential Clarke....

I reckon Clarke may have grown up idolising MP Vaughan... the way he plays through the offside.

Same boat as Westley - do div 2 runs count?

If Gubbins makes more runs then he's the next cab, surely?

He says he grow up idolising Adam Gilchrist and says he's a very leg side dominant player, but maybe he did.

Yeah thanks didn't even know he kept as well. Jesus how many keeper batsmen have we got?  :)

Like the look of Clarke thou....but there's Duckett,Vince,northeast,Jennings,hameed,billings,westley...

It's a helluva long list of potential younger players.

And then there's gaz ballance? Is it really all finished for him with England...

Perhaps that's for another day. On the plus side he's available for the Yorkies if Strauss don't rest him for the whole season .

 :)

Yorkshire are well used to captains who don't score any runs... ;)

I like Duckett in limited over stuff and feel he would be a great addition to those sides. Same thing for Billings i'm not sure if he is a test match player but is fantastic in limited over cricket.
Ballance and Vince, aren't finished for England in my oppinion.
Northeast deserves a go and Westley considering the amount of runs he has been scoring.
Hameed I feel will be in the team for a long time but I have got a gut feeling that Jennings just won't cut it at international level, but he has proved me wrong so far.

This thread is the strongest advocacy for an independent Yorkshire I have ever read.

I'm watching Lancashire vs Cambridge MCCU in some glorious sunshine. Hameed has just retired hurt, same finger issues again.

Did it take a blow or just general discomfort?

Not quite sure, didn't see anything hit his gloves. I think he has gone for a x-ray.

Wtf... apparently Charlie Shreck got a bit sweary in one of the Leicestershire vs MCCU games, and with the ECB being the ECB he's been banned, the captain's been banned, plus Leics got fined and docked 16 points in the county championship already! With a further 8 point suspended penalty. Seems reasonable :o

Wasn't just for that, was the fifth incident in 12 calender months or something like that, Cosgrove banned as he was skipper on all occasions.
