Little significance. Massive talent with bat. End of.

Not seen that much of him. My point is that having that second dimension will help him move through what are cluttered ranks.

No clutter here.

In international terms, these are the most cluttered times I've known. For seven batting slots, you have four nailed on certs - Root, YJB, Cook and Stokes, with Hameed and Jennings likely two of the three.

Then you have Butler in situ, Abell, Duckett, Clarke, Livingstone, Westley and DBD in the Lions, Roy looking to graduate across and Hales, Balance, Lyth Robson and Vince hoping on another chance.

Then you have proven div one performers like Stoneman, Borthwick, Lees, Gubbins...oh, and other young tyros Jack Burnham, Max Holden and Del Rawlins.

That's some clutter...

How good is Ben Coad at the moment!

Awesome to see Hampshire taking a bit of control in the game against Middlesex.

Amazing what you can do if you buy in a squad of overseas mercenaries, eh? ;)

Coad. Yep. Been following the Tykes 30 years, that is the least I have seen one coming. Jake Ball-esque in his nowt to plenty transformation!

Hampshire have always been a county team made up of a load of mercenaries and gin-swigging jazz hats.

Makes winning all the more sweet when people are moaning about your team all the time  ;).

On a serious note though Rossouw hit a match changing 99 (before getting run out!) today with an apparent fractured finger against a pretty good Middlesex attack which is a fairly impressive feat. Hopefully we can clear them up fairly cheaply tomorrow morning and then chase down whatever they set. Edwards has done something to his hamstring which is preventing him from bowling but Topley should be back ready to play next game if Edwards issue is that serious.

Are you proud of your team?

Honestly?

Either way, it saddens me that actual England prospects like Crane and Alsop cannot get a game because Sahrod Bransgrove has recruited team Yarpie Paycheck.

Still nowhere near as bad as the Northants team from a few years back that must have consisted of about 6/7 SA cricketers.

Yorkshire fan here. I'm happy Hampshire are going well.

If you want to get an England gig, you better be better than SA's cast offs.

Hardly ABD/Amla/Rabada are they.

Basically you're saying there are a lot of batsmen who want to play for England? When has that ever been different?

That Dan Lawrence can bowl a bit of off-spin will never be a consideration.

Erm, you get better by playing?
