Please can someone tell me what Williamson has to do to get a game

Overseas batsmen who dont bowl a lot have a slim chance of getting a game. Faf, KW are good examples. Teams generally go with 2-3 batsmen rest are all rounders and bowlers.
In case of Pune and Hyderabad, the captain is overseas player and plays as a batsman.

Is it? The spine isnt like the kabooms ive seen. Your collection as an example.

Hmm I guess his is thicker spine down the toe?

My latest one with only 48mm edges looks fairly similar and the marked out bit on Gambhirs bat looks pretty sure like GN, must be custom for the subcontinent conditions.

Look like a halestorm shape to mine mine is similar to this shape

Not familiar with that shape mate so dunno.

Shinpathy - thats a bit closer but comparing the way both bats are angled in the photos thats still nowhere as extreme as the bat pictured. You might be right about something custom.

Yep there are too many variations within the range itself.

So finch misses this game because he's lost his kit bag! I'm sure a few forum members would've lent him some kit;). Surprising he didn't borrow his team mates kit

Someone hit the jackpot with his kit

Jason Roy, international ODI and T20 opener. A good one at that.

Let's bat him at 6, behind some Indian youngster crawling to 11 off 14 balls following on from Raina crawling at a run a ball. Here have 7 balls Jason and don't forget you are only playing because Finch forgot his kit!

If I was him, I'd cancel my contract and get some County Championship cricket. What an utter waste.

Roy's drop probably cost his side the game today.

I'm sure Roy doesn't mind bench warming as opposed to earning penies playing county cricket (if the ecb let him).
He's had a couple of chances and not taken them. Finch, Mccullum and smith have performed better. Agree that the line up was wrong today

Not sure the catch cost them the game, Rohit looked in pretty good nick. Him and Pollard might of taken the game away sooner. They don't look like an attack that can keep a team in check. Which makes it all the more odd that they weren't more aggressive with the bat. Dropping Roy down the order probably did cost them the match. No point being 4 down and missing out on another 20 runs, particularly when Roy and Jadeja pretty much stayed in the hutch. Almost like they were batting to orders?

Roy might earn pennies in county cricket but most cricketers prefer to play.

Bairsow and broad are enjoying playing county cricket right now oh wait the ecb isn't letting them do so.

I'm sure if you were in the same position you would pick the ipl and secure a future for your family given how small a sportsmens career is.

Bairstow - Never been to Yorkshire have you? They think they are a country by themselves. Not playing cricket is a crime enough at any level, but playing for somebody other than Yorkshire would be a shooting offence. Seeing a Yorkshireman in the IPL when Yorkshire are playing any form of cricket is as likely as Kim Jong Un having a cuddle with Trump.

Broad and Anderson are under orders to rest from the ECB. Broad played Big Bash as he had 6 months off,  unless the ashes tests are done next winter I can't see him repeating it.

Jason Roy gets in the region of £180k from England, probably £70-100k from Surrey, Big Bash plus endorsements. The £123k he gets from IPL benchwarming is very nice but I imagine it's not life changing. Most International cricketers in England earn £700k + endorsements, so unless you are Ben Stokes it's more about playing than the money. That said I imagine Stokes would also like a bit more time at the crease as well.

123K for 6 weeks of bench warming is pretty good to me? and that would be pretty life changing to most people. Unless you earn more than that for 6 weeks worth of work?

How do you get from 180+100 to 700? I think if international cricketers in England were getting 700k plus extras then the kidz would be well in to chasing a career in cricket!

I don't think anyone would turn down the chance for a 100k+ for only a moderate amount of work!

Last I heard the base salary for those on a central contract was around 700k I think before even taking into account match fees, sponsorships etc. Roy's obviously on the tier below being a limited overs specialist.
