Yes we doing okay Cam are we are  currently top of our division 9 wins and one loss from ten but we could do with a couple  more reqular  players only had eleven once  this seaon we have an excellent set up and a pro groundsman.

I'm captain today for the first time ever, as our normal twos skipper is abscent and I volunteered with the vice captain away too, playing an unbeaten team, could be interesting

They got 185/10 in their 40 overs. We knocked it off 2 down in 34 overs. Yours truly 74* using my Red Ink. Lovely bat.

Played Felixstowe today as there ground, bit run down but a lovely track hard and fast but turned a bit for spinners.
We won the toss and batted first there opening bowler must have been 6ft 6 at least and got a lot of bounce lucky he wasnt express pace, nicked 4th ball just short of 2nd slip but apart from that best Iv felt in ages and Iv been batting well this year. 85 opening stand in 16 overs before partner was caught at gully, 3 came and went quickly and then built partnerships with No 4 and then no 5 and got to 100 next ball tried my first big shot ( ground was huge with massive boundaries all around) and was caught for exactly 100 first time ever been out bang on 100. No 6 & 7 then smashed 66 between them in 7 overs to take us to 238-5.

2nd week in a row our opening bowlers were superb quick and accurate and bowling great areas, wrapped up there innings in 29 overs with them all out for 83. No byes and kept really well again back into the keeping groove but happy to give gloves back to younger up and coming keeper when he is back from travelling next game in 2 weeks.

Added bonus is we are 3rd 4 pta behind 2nd and 21 behind 1st place who lost today to 2nd bottom. Two teams go up and now wide open.

we were 192 all out, i got 21 off 14. we bowled them out for 19, I picked up 5 for 9!

Won by 150 runs but dislocated my knee getting a ball out of the neighbouring field - a mixed day!

We lost the toss and were surprisingly asked to bat on a hot day.
The first wicket fell at 18, but things were looking rather good at 62-1 off 15. I then went in at no. 10 with the score 99-8 off 27.4 overs.
We ended with 156-9 off our 42. I played a "you shall not pass" innings for 19* while our no. 11 helped himself to 26* off about 10 balls!

We started strongly in reply, reducing them to 38-4 in 9 overs. There was a partnership of 56 for the 6th wicket which got us a bit twitchy. We kept taking wickets but the runs were coming. 2 wickets in the 34th over got our noses in front, but there was an invaluable 15 added for the 9th wicket.

The chase came down to 5 overs, 29 runs, one wicket in hand. I bowled the penultimate over with 12 needed, conceding just 2 runs. 10 runs, one over. 6 were scored off the first 5 balls, meaning 4 runs off the final ball. Thankfully our leggy held his nerve and tossed it up, the batsman charged and was stumped.

We won by 3 runs, so everyone's contribution was vital with the bat! What a great day, played in the right spirit with all 3 results possible off the final ball.

Personally I bowled 9 overs, 1-22 but kept it tight. I'm pleased with my all round contribution in the game, but the win was so much sweeter as it was a real team effort!

Glad you scored some runs. I obviously don't know the standard you play at but seeing those videos of you last summer in the nets, it was clear that you could bat. Mind you it's a brave skipper who throws the ball to a leg-spinner for the final over.

I'm shocked at village level more captains don't. If you can land a ball pretty consistently and get a bit of turn Leggie's pick up a hatful of wickets at the end of an innings. I love coming on to bowl at this time, occasionally get whacked but mostly its like shooting fish in a barrel!

Cracking game of cricket yesterday

We won the toss and elected to bat first on an interesting home wicket
Lots of variable bounce with plenty keeping low, but we managed to post 274 off 45 overs with a couple of our youngsters getting a bat, and scoring well.
Can't remember what I scored 🐒

Oppos didnt really have a chance chasing that down, but had a good go, with one old boy driving it nicely to all parts before being bowled on 80
They ran out of overs on 160 with 5 down

Personally I batted ok,(loving using my old toro) and bowled 12 overs for 50 ish, took a couple wickets and bowled leggies for my last four overs, which I really enjoyed
