Didn't you say you usually play with 8 anyway? ???
Spot on Cam he probably has seven or less  players which would mean under league rules the game has to be conceded and that carries a fined.

Now I'm in the right year. Anyone need a batsman tomorrow in Somerset/Dorset/Devon. Mother in law staying so willing to travel. Our opposition called off as they couldn't raise a side.

Club won today opposition scored 206 for 5 got them in  32 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Due to missing 3 weeks skipper didn't bat me till seven doing so allowed me time in the middle before hitting the winning runs.

Our bowlers Managed to bowl 37 extras or  6.1 overs more than they needed to on our home pitch
When all the results are in should be first or second in the division tonight.

Played a lovely bunch of lads from the Essex Suffolk border today ( lovely being the most sarcastic option allowed)

Lost the toss and they chose to bat soon found themselves 60/6 and got ripped a new one by our opening bowler who is quick No,5 jumping into the arms of square leg umpire, No4 refusing to get to his end basically and every time they were out blamed the pitch or told the new man in how dog poo we all were.
Anyway after the opening bowlers had bowled there allocations they lumped up to 129 all out. Back behind the stumps today and felt decent taking 2 catches and generally having a decent day with the gloves 1buy I think.

I'm reply we got off to a flyer, there keeper then appealed for a leg side stumping which wasn't given and decided to call anyone not included in his side a cheating a C bomb. Personally this just ensured my motivation was as high as could and we knocked it off for the loss of 2 wickets just after drinks.
Personally finished 48no taking me past 250 league runs from my 5 innings so far and hopefully when results come in will take us to 2nd if gone our way or closed gap at the promotion places.

Absolute shocker today.

Lost the toss and the oppo put us in. Since we had 12 and our 12th man is a league registered umpire capt asked him to umpire the game. After 3 balls (actually it was 5 if you count the one wide and 1 no ball that bounced 5 times. A total of 14 runs came off the 3 legitimate deliveries) their opening bowler magically injured himself and had to be replaced by the oppos capt. Somewhere around the 17 over mark our scorer made an error when counting the captains overs saying he was bowled out when he had 1 left. Fair enough he made a mistake, what none of us expected was the torrent of abuse that then came out of the guys mouth smh.

We scored 260 odd all out and they were 47-2 off 19 overs or so (the oppo captain came into bat at 3) when our ump gave their capt out lbw. Im ngl it was as plumb as you get. Hit him on the full in front of middle stump when he was trying to sweep it off our off spinner. He then proceeds to pose in the position he finished the shot in for a good 10 seconds and then stand sup and knock all 3 stumps out the ground with his bat. Then he walks off and concedes the game at 47-3.

That is bonkers, I've seen many things on a cricket field but never seen anyone knock the stumps over and conced the game.  What did the rest of the side do? If I was in next to bat, having fielded and paid my subs I would not be happy.

How will your league deal with this?

Seems like the oppo Captain had a bad day. Seriously though crickets the loser here.

Another great game of cricket yesterday. We were missing a lot of batsmen including three centurions so won toss and bowled on a damp track. 2 youngsters bowled brilliantly but it rained and second half of innings was difficult with a wet ball. They reached 160. We gave our best bat out lbw he looked very far up wicket and we were quite lenient with wides. Game looked over until our 50 year old who plays when we are stuck hit 30 in an over. Needed 6 to win off last over and we ended with a tie. Still unbeaten but off the top now.

Great just did excel score card for league 8 runs out in our favour! Ah well nothing can be done about it now except to add on and subtract some wides and send it in as a tie.

Another big loss for us yesterday, we've got a very talented side but seem to be failing big time with the bat almost every week, myself included.

Worst season I've ever had with the bat, including a 3 ball duck yesterday, bowled by a full toss that dipped (I should have known) off a 14 year old leg spinner. I thought it was a juicy gimme that I could smash to the square leg boundary when in fact I played the ugliest, most agricultural heave I've ever played and got castled. Deprived myself of tea in disappointment of such a crap shot, anyone who knows me will attest that's quite a punishment!

Doing well on the bowling front though, now have 11 wickets at 15s, and have bowled well when being asked to hold an end up and keep it tight so mixed emotions about the season so far.

Yesterday was awful. I hate cricket!

I got out the shower to 2 missed calls from the 2nd XI captain and a load of unpleasantries flying round on the group chat.
Long story cut short, I was called up to the 2nd XI, I was out walking the dog at the time and there was less than an hour until the meet time.

Turned up, we lost the toss and were asked to field.
Opposition posted 292-7, with the opener making 150 (he was dropped 6 times!)

I bowled okay, 6 overs 0-34 and had the opener dropped while he was in the 40's

In response we made 225-4. Our opener carried his bat for 104*
I'm not knocking him for getting his maiden ton, but he batted so slowly he effectively stalled our chase before it could get going.

To summarise how awful a day I had, due to the mad rush when I got in from my dog walk to get to the game on time I turned up (late) without a bat! Village...
