Selected for Brookhouse first team today. Started the season with a 1 from 7 balls, looked and felt in OK for the first 4 balls but went down hill for the last 3 balls of the innings. Suppose for the first time I have played since 2014 it was to be expected really.

@tomcat210_2  brookhouse, Rotherham?

First game for real today. 1st round  of cup. Against last years league and cup double winners.

I got us off to a good start.

1 game, 1fifty. Not a bad start.

We got 245 all out in the end, and oppo were all out 160. So second round here we come.

First game in 12 years today. Wicket was a dusty pile of **** with bomb holes everywhere, other team were nothing special and I played really poorly. Bowled out for 10 off the ***** bowling I've ever seen (it was the slowest full toss I've ever seen so all my fault) while others were racking up easy 50's, dropped a catch and gave away more extras than I think they got runs off my bowling (and that's not to say they didn't hit runs!). Feel a bit **** but it could be the heat stroke talking as much as anything!
.                                                                                                                                                                           but it  shouldn't  really  matter as long as you enjoyed it.

First game for the new club today, we won by 6 wickets. I batted at 6 and ended up with a very scratchy 12no. Didn't middle or time anything

Team lost. I scored a single before being given out lbw, ball hit my thigh pad and I'm 6"5. Best bit was umpire was our opener who was in a foul mood after an early duck. Had a bowl, got out their best bat, 1-25 off 8. Looks like another season in the trenches

I think your opener needs a word in his ear.

Well 6 months of CBF practice not much use today, my mate got dropped the mother of all dollies at second slip on 0 and went on to hammer 64, I got one that turned, bounced and hit the shoulder of my bat on a dry pitch and I was walking back with a single to my name.

That's the game thou!!

Roll on next week  :)

He left straight after the game, barely said a word to anyone after he got out. Have a gut feeling this will be a very trying season for us, just players attitudes after one game. Feel sorry for our skipper and team of volunteers who do a lot of work for the club. Don't have a large squad so can't upset players in case they leave, but things have to change :(

Only made 14 today before I got bowled by a grubber.

On the bright side I felt good while I was out there, had a strike rate of 155 and hit a bomb that went about 70 meters before a fence halted it's progress!
Must remember to get forward even to shorter balls, it's only April so they won't sit up... :-[

Not the start to my season I had hoped for - nicked off in the 4th over to a very good opening bowler for 5 still an enjoyable day and good to get back into it. we go again next week....

Pleased to say a definite improvement on last week 50 retired from 53 Balls in our friendly match today

Normal day in the office, scratchy 18* as I attempt to dig us out of a hole at 104-7. We got 157-9 but batted poorly. Took 3-19 off 7 as I attempted to dig us out of hole when the oppo were 95-1. Lost by 2 wickets in the end so a good game. Pleased to be playing again but felt pretty ropey with bat and ball.

Also, I actually dreamt my first game of the season last night... Opened the batting, first ball punched one away through midwicket and misjudged it as a certain boundary so only got a single. Opening partner then immediately sells me down the river and I'm run out for one! I think I either need therapy or just to get on with some cricket haha.
