Played in two games yesterday total of 65 overs in the field with temperature in the 30's not pleasant.

Just want to clarify which temperature scale you are using. If it's 30's in England it will be in Fahrenheit, if it's in Australia it will be in Centrigrade.

We batted first, and needed some quick runs when I went in during the 26th over (35 over match). Got 32 off 21, before being bowled trying to stick the opening bowler into Viscount Gage's herd of cows.

A quick sample of my knock filmed from square leg. Not my most stylish innings, but the bowling wasn't great and we needed runs fast:

I Hope the Umpire signalled the 1 short in the 2nd video.

I Hope the Umpire signalled the 1 short in the 2nd video.

He missed it until he reviewed the video. It's quite obvious though!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought hey saw a run short. The run out attempt was some all round class cricket too :)

I was warned to make sure the guy I was batting with was backing up... I ran 2/3 there and back and he didn't move! TBH I was aiming the shot at my brothers annoying orange car

Played against one of the weaker sides in our league on Saturday. A grey-haired chap opened the bowling for the opposition off a shortish run. Thought it might be a batsmans day. 10 overs from the bottom end later he had taken 4 wickets for 6 runs! Discovered shortly after that he is an England over 50s player and has just got back from an overseas tour! He had it on a sixpence! There is a moral there about books and covers

I managed to put together a scrappy 35 and the team got up to around 160 which we defended by bowling them out in the last over. Thoroughly enjoyable day

First game of the season today and our first league game. We got promoted last yea and great to start with a win.
Skipper lost the toss and we were put in to bat which I was quite happy about as our home wicket is lovely and hard at the moment. Left arm opener put one in the slot 2nd ball which flew out the middle of my Gray Nicolls Gun (thanks Jake) and set me off nicely. Put on 246 for first wicket so there skipper was no doubt not falvour of the month. My opening partner scored 136 and myself 105 before both being stumped an over apart chasing late runs and we finished 302-4.
In reply our opening bowler picked up 3 wickets in his first 4 overs and game was over from then on, gave loads of players a bowl and eased to 164 run victory in 31 overs so great first result. Even though we were promoted still 2/3 leagues below our level after moving across to Home Counties in 2015 but great day and nice weather. Really pleased to start this season where I finished last with a 200+ opening stand and a Ton, not playing for 2 weeks now due to a stag next weekend and family commitments after that but glad season has started

First game today pre season friendly,

Made 17 batting at 8 in a rebuilding job we ended 118ao

Bowed nicely with my first two overs being a maiden and a wicket maiden mi figures were something like 8-2-20ish-1

Nice to be back out on he field and ready for a long hard season!!

Make that 7 overs 2 maidens 1 wicket for 27 runs

decent start to the season but lots of work to do mainly on fitness levels and decision making when batting!

Terrible start to the season for me personally, got to do absolutely nothing all day, no bat and no bowling - just a whole lot of fielding!

Opposition went 319-9 after going 233-0 with both opening bats hitting tons - one using a lovely BB very efficiently to say the least. The other (who I dropped on 60 odd) also had a nice bat couldn't make out what it was though.

Did end up taking a catch but that was about it for me as I sat in the hutch batting at 9 for the rest of the day as we ended 177-5 off 50.
