Good first win for the seconds yesterday, we chased down 182 in 30 overs, made it look easy in the end

Team won yesterday by 49 runs with nine players two cup games two wins roll on the league commencement next Sat.

Really good day for the club yesterday. Us and the 2nds got maximum points and 3 people got tons (including me) and a guy in the 2nds took 6/19.

Really pleased to get a hundred (107 off 127) after missing out last week.

We won easily in the end, we got 267/7 and then bowled them out for 68.

Got asked to step down to the 2s yesterday because it was there worst fixture against north Maidenhead. This fixture got so bad last year that one of their players uprooted a stump and started charging towards our captain with it. He received a ten match ban for this so thankfully was t playing. We arrived at what can only be described as a cut strip in the middle of a village football field and also found out that the bloke that was banned would be umpiring their innings 10 decisions turned down in their 31 over innings - all out for 167 which was poor given our 6 dropped catches 20 extras and probably 30 given away due to misfields. Still a very achievable target especially with 59 overs in the bank - openers lasted all of 3 balls - I clothed one of the worst balls I have faced to midwicked for 4 after trying to pull an off spinner. And we were eventually cleaned up for 89. Balls! To make it worse all three teams lost...double balls! Although on a plus side there were over 500 runs scored on our home pitch in under 100 overs - absolute road...get in.

125 today with only 3 4's as their attack wasn't great and we had a weak team so I just ensured one end was closed all 40 overs and didn't want to ruin the oppos game either by flogging them.

Due to rain all day yesterday, we decided to play 20/20. The other team batted first and was bowled out for 89. We chased the score in 14 overs with 5 wickets down. I was given LBW on 1 run by umpire when it was clearly missing leg stump as it was going down leg. My off break bowling was quite effective. My bowling figure was 3-1-4-0. One of my teammates dropped a sitter on my bowling.

Overall, a good day of cricket.

Good day today - won our national village cup game against wraysbury - great crowd and a great game of cricket - and undefeated stand of 192 between myself and our number three (80 and 101 repectively)  helped us get to 254-3 off our 40 overs - and they were all out for 197 a really well oiled performance and we can build from here

Always glad to see Wraysbury lose! Bet that stand shut them up or were they still their usual gobby selves?

Enjoyable afternoon playing a friendly in Leeds today.

Eventually lost the toss (coin wouldn't land flat) and opposition chose to bat first. Our quick bowler turned around to me at what would have been the start of his 3rd over and said "save me for when the better batsmen come in" so it just seemed easiest just to bowl myself as I was already there. In fairness this worked in our favour because my off-spin was gripping and bouncing off a good length so I brought on another off-spinner first change at other end too. I picked up 1 wicket, other off-spinner got 3 (including someone who stood on his wickets) but the star of the show was the autistic lad I support who picked up 4-23 (a lethal combination of leg-spin, off-spin and pies !!). The last pair put on around 40 with some big hitting so I brought back on our opener and he uprooted the off stump second ball back which set us a target of 131 to win.

A 5 wicket victory arrived with around 15 overs to spare (thanks to some big hitting) but the most pleasing aspect of our reply was the innings of the lad who got most of the tap from the last pair. I think he thought that was his day done (normally bats 10 or 11 on Saturday) but I put him to bat at No.5 and he played a great supporting innings, ending up around 20 not out. We had a laugh at the end of the match and told him you don't look quite as depressed now as you did at tea.

Generally they didn't say much to be honest they seemed like an alright bunch with the exception of a few - the few that chirped to start with soon shut up as we sent their opening bowler for 20 off one of his overs lol.
