Got absolutely shafted by Taplow today. Rained before toss, which we lost and batted. 56/5 off 26 at drinks, which became 63ao inside 30... Wicket suited the opener perfectly, he got 9/27 from 14.4, I was the only wicket not to fall to him. Second baller for me, ball nipped back and hit me below the knee on back pad right in front, I knew I was a gonner before our ump raised his finger faster than I've ever seen! Got three wickets total as they chased us down, personally 6.2-1-18-1, opener nicking to slip. 12 of the runs came from the final ball of my 6th over and the first two of the seventh which ruined my figures somewhat! Felt like the ball was coming out really nicely which was a bonus.

Couple of weeks off for me coming up due to GB and other Frisbee commitments, but at least I bowled well today.

You were stone dead, one of the easiest lbw's your ump will have all season. Best he's bowled in a long time, helped by a few of your top order going back when they should have gone forward, ball keeping low for a couple obviously did the bats no favours.

You bowled well, the guy who steadied ship at end said you bowled well and he's played a very high level of cricket. Said you were far more threatening than the other leggie.

Got a game in against an unbalanced Cranleigh side. We got 227-7 off 40 overs in and out of the rain.

They had openers and nothing else, 48-0 off 8, then they tumbled to 78-8 with only 9 batters.

Yours truly managed 3-13 off 8 with the benders really going and two outrageous LBWs turned down by their increasingly desperate skipper.

20 points in the bag!

Another win!

With help from 2 1s batsman because their game was off!

Ours was nearly called off before ball was bowled as the ground was litterally saturated! But we held out with a strong breeze and sunshine to help!

2s bowlers finished it off though, i came on to bowl a corker for a delivery bowling the batsman round his legs taking leg stump! Love a green wicket me!

I know how you feel. I'm having the worst start to a season I can remember, 5 innings and haven't got out of single figures once. What's making it worse is that I don't even know what kind of form I'm in any more, last 2 knocks I've attracted balls that have bounced and kept low so feeling a sense of injustice - first 4 balls I faced yesterday I felt good but ended up walking off wondering what just happened. I feel like giving it all up at the moment.
It didn't help that we suffered a horrible defeat. Kept a weak Thames Ditton side down to 119 on a decent track which was probably 20 too many, but then collapsed to 9 for 4 and 43 for 9 before the last wicket pair shamed the rest of us to reduce the margin of defeat.

Keep going Malcolm! Not playing any preseason and not netting every week means it's taken me 3 games to hit my straps!

Stick in there man, the runs will come!

Is there a more heartbreaking way of losing a game than what we did yesterday (especially me personally)?

We lost the toss and batted first on a wet track (opposition probably thought of getting points before the rain came) but amazingly we got the full game in. Our innings finished 144 all out - our tail end not batting the overs out, and I myself managed to add just 3 to our total before I hit a spinner back to him for a caught and bowled.

We got 2 early wickets, but a middle order fightback had the game all but won (120 for 2) then we got a wicket....and another...and another...and another... suddenly is was 143 for 9 and in the last over.

2 balls in, number 10 batsman plays one down in front of him straight to me at silly point, I pick up the ball and underarm it to our keeper but it's too high, credit to him he leaps up and takes it and the stumps are off in a flash.... not out. Uproar from our team that the oppositions number 11 didn't have his bat down, but I knew myself that it wasn't out. Poor throw. Scores are tied and number 11 then knocks one past the infield for the win.

An entires days worth of cricket comes down to a poor throw from myself. I bloody hate cricket.

To the impartial spectator definitely - not for us and our home ones though unfortunately!

Sickening to walk past them at the end of the game and nothing to be said. Awful feeling - ruins an entire weekend.
