Yeah let's hope so senior, the sort of toss as a captain you never want the walk back to team mates if you have lost. Many a time thou everyone has been whoopin at a won toss to get rolled over for 100 all out on a plum track in the boling heat!!

Potentially I could be facing 55 overs in the field tommorow after which my old bones will be cracking, is anyone else potentially facing longer than 55 overs in the field  tommorow ?

Tell me someone is I might feel better  :)

With  only 8
players  if I get out early I'll be umpiring quite a few overs and if we don't bowl them out I'll be in the field  for 50 and there's no showers  just what you don't need when the temperature is in the mid seventies. If there's a storm I'll probably go and stand in it.

Hmm... no cricket for me tomorrow. 2nd XI match got called off this morning (opposition conceded) so went up to the 1st and their match is now off too for the same reason. Thought about going in our league's player pool for tomorrow the lure of fish and chips in Whitby is just too tempting.

Edit. just got a call from my previous club who are 1 short so no fish and chips for me today, or at least no decent fish and chips.

44 of 20 in a Wednesday night victory.
85 of 35 in the lms on Thursday. Still lost, but I hit our sides first 12 off the last ball.

Now today's Saturday, haven't had a decent saturday score since first game of season, I'm hoping I can take my form in and get some Saturday runs!

It's a funny old game, but I guess that's why we love playing it...

We got 198 off our overs, not great as we were 150 for 4 at one stage.

I ended up opening the bowling for some reason, and after my first 2 overs had 1 wicket for 0 runs, then in my 3rd their No 3 popped a dolly up to our skipper at mid off who bellied and then dropped it  :o.   They got to 175 for 5 off 32, with their No3 on 90, and we thought that it was all over. Then a couple of quick wickets including finally their 3, and suddenly it was game on.

We ended up bowling them out for 187 with 5 overs left, talk about pulling a rabbit out of a hat   :D

Our frustrating season continues, so 10:30 this morning the clouds open and we get the mother of all thunder showers for about 30mins, turn up at the ground today (lavenham suffolk) and the grounds amazing with views of a stunning church and lovely fields etc. Only problem the wicket is a weed infested dog plus it's been soaked 2 hours before.

Any way we bowl them out for 134 so all good until I realise we have 4 top 6 batters missing and those are playing are bang out of form. Short version we end up 112 all out I managed 36 in 37 overs with a mix of grubbers, climbing balls, whistled past my face then shots along the deck next ball. Got called a cheating .... for a ball that flicker the top hat of the pad by the same guy who smashed the cover off it and claimed it got nothing at all when keeper took on front of 1st slip, No umpires this week unfortunately. Any way be good to see how club reacts after 2 years of nothing but winning see how we unite to ensure we are challenging come end of season.
Availability issues need resolving first though batting line up is running very thin most weeks where as last season we had batters screaming to play each week

Leaked 319

We lost wickets So given we were never chasing down the score just batted for the pretend draw to deny bowling pts. Shame we don't play the draw which would keep the game alive.

16 today.

Bowler was bowling filth, and then threw in a lovely inswinging yorker. It was a good but so I'm not that mad.

We was 179 all out.

They finished 150 for 8. They were 80 for 1 at drinks and seemed to (No Swearing Please) up shop, and then tried to go for it needing 60 of last 5.
Really wierd, we bought we was out of it.

Already beginning to tire of cricket - 2nd ball duck today triggered by an inept panel umpire after I smashed the cover off it onto my pads - two other decisions were given out wrongly too and to top it all off the umpire said to our bowler that the batsman was being given as soon as it hit his pad because he chucked it all innings and didn't like him...nice one umps. Cretin. Won by 100 odd  runs tho which was good
