Didn't play today today due to having my daughter went along to watch and turned up at tea to find out the bloke who covered keeping duties for me today has broken his jaw. Our opening bowler 70mph+ bowled a full toss that after pitching behind the stumps took a horrible bounce just in front of him and hit him flush on the jaw with the new nut. Fella is in pain and at A&E but hopefully won't require major work.

We bowled oppo out for 121 and knocked it off 4 down to make it 6 wins in a row and back in automatic promotion spot. God win but a bit overshadowed today

Another terrible day for me and my team against a promotion chasing side.

Batted first and made 123. Personally got a golden duck batting at 3, left one that hit the top of my middle stump. Absolutely no idea why i left it, right arm bowler coming over the wicket (i'm a leftie) i presumed it would move away from me but it didn't and made me look very stupid. A very irresponsible leave considering our tail started at 7 and i exposed our best batsman to a hat-trick ball (Thankfully he made a quick-fire 40 to give us half a chance)

We then bowled pretty well first 10 overs, dropping a chance in the slips but the two openers were gradually plodding along. And when i came onto bowl, were both on 50 and set about running down the wicket to put me off my line and length. Bowled 2 overs 1-24. It really doesn't help playing on an astro wicket that doesn't even offer the slightest bit of assistance for spinners! They chased it down in 30-odd overs with 9 wickets in hand.

I went out on loan today and....
- batted No.11 where I faced 2 deliveries before the young lad at the other end got bowled.
- didn't bowl.
- fielded the ball twice
The team I played for did win but not exactly the most thrilling of Saturday afternoons and I didn't really rate the tea much either.

Won today. Defended 210-4 off 40
Made 95 before being caught on boundary.
All my own fault.

Played my best knock (though not my largest) for some time yesterday. Found myself unexpectedly promoted to the 2s last week - not through weight of runs. After a dismal effort in the field we were left chasing 255. I managed to share in an opening partnership of 125 at 5 an over and though my partner was the main aggressor, I found more fluency than usual to make 38, felt well balanced, even playing better through the on side than lately, and didn't feel in any trouble until getting out freakishly, running down the track to clip the spinner through midwicket, I middled the ball onto my foot and the ball cannoned onto the stumps. Hoped we might have set a platform to go onto win, however the middle order fell apart and we eventually had to bat out for a draw 8 down and 50 short. Hopefully this is a bit of a breakthrough and I've found a way to contribute more heavily, we'll see.

Made 179-7 off 40 and winning by 1 run, I was the one who had to bowl the last over as well  :( all fun and games though.

Personal milestone reached though, first 50 which I'm thrilled about. Got 54 in the end

Another good week, bowled out the oppo for 119 and then knocked it off in the 19th over for only 2 wickets down - personally managed 61* and a catch so can't complain!

Really not good enough when you loan yourself out you should be given a bat no lower than 8 and and a bowl after all you  need to make  loanees  guest players feel part of the tea you want them to play again.

Loat by 100 runs. Poor performance. Bottled top of the table clash and we now be left to limp To promotion. What made it worse was the tea. One shop bought pizza that didnt even get round our team. Got to skipper next wek and im thinking of making wholesale changes.

On the flip side of this, what if you have a settled side with only 1 player unavailable?
Do you upset the regulars to give the loanee a game, or do you focus on winning the game with your regulars filling their usual roles?

Don't really see why regulars would get upset giving a  guest player a bat or a bowl you can mould your team game to suit and that includes winning my club does it  every match when we can get someone as we want  to encourage them to play again yesterday  somebody's cousin played  for us  for the first time we knew nothing about him  he opened the batting.

Won scored 208 batting second batted at 4 scored 0 bowled for the first time this season leg stump trying to pull a left arm over the wicket spinner completely missed it. Club  now has a decent lead at the top.
. Surely your number 3s 111 was the story of the day?

Another week, another CSG batting collapse. Bowled Taplow out for 153, personally 11/5/26/2 bowling their skipper and number 5 nicking to slip. Bought wickets for one of our seamers and our offie came on and mopped up with 4/6 which was pretty frustrating as I'd created plenty of chances. Long story short, I batted nine and was in with the score 55/7. Scored nine, couple of nice shots for boundaries, before getting one that nipped away at pace and took my off stump. Some poor batting saw us all out for 73 I think. I was third highest scorer, as only two people made double figures. Longest innings and highest score of the season though, felt really good at the crease and was timing it well.

The ball of you bowling our skipper was posted in our whatsapp group, if I ever work out how then I'll upload it and provide the link.

You guys haven't done too well against us with the bat this year! I didn't play but heard it was a slow low one. Heard one of your left handers who got bowled was talked out quite amusingly when he tried mowing someone into next week in response to some chat!
