Jake, I heard you didn't want to go into the EAPL. Do I assume from this post I was fed misinformation?
I've been told lots of different things by various people about what we supposedly do and don't want to do, but I can assure you any gossip out there from anyone claiming to know is exactly that; gossip. Me and Robin know what our preferred option for the club is, but that is as wide as the circle of knowledge stretches currently. We haven't discussed with the playing group (who should be the main ones making the decision in my opinion) as we want to concentrate on the games we have remaining.
The reality is we have a number of options on the table, including joining another league a bit more geographically suited to us compared to the current potential trip in the EAPL from north of Peterborough to Frinton near Clacton for an 11am start - a 3 hour journey on a good day, and we know how poor East Anglias road network is.
We haven't decided on anything yet. We are focusing on winning a league that many people told us we had won weeks ago. The very real scenario is we could win all 3 games and still finish second if Ramsey take max points and we don't, or we could get rained off and they don't. We'd look like chumps if that happens and we'd been shouting from the rooftops about our EAPL intentions.
There is also the playoff to consider, winning the league doesn't automatically entitle us to an EAPL place, we have to win a game against Norfolk or 2 Counties opposition.
