The best cotton binding is traditional cotton its Stronger and easier to work with its also what batmakers use. Would avoid that stretchy polyester stuff.
Hi mate, this is the stuff I use, off ebay. If you search for the reference number below you can find it. It seems to work pretty well. 170847680644
Isn't the twine just there to add a bit of reinforcing strength? I'm pretty sure the PVA glue will hold everything in place fine even if the twine had a small amount of stretch which the polyester/cotton mix stuff I've got doesn't have.Do you not find it too thick mate? Pretty sure this is the stuff I've bought and it's like heavy duty parcel wrapping string.
I've been struggling to get a decent amount of the right thickness cotton twine for binding the handle. There's a lot on eBay that looks the right thickness but without seeing it it's hard to tell and even then it only comes in shortish lengths. I've bought 600m of twine online but it's too thick. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a supplier that will sell a spool of cotton twine to a budding batmaker? Thanks.
Could someone provide a link to the binding twine they use please. Thanks
