You've had them. What's wrong with other shops having them?

The same about the Maximus could be see said for all of the "sharpie" bats that VKS have stocked, all the bats that the CrownCricketer have stocked, all the bats that Cricmart.in have stocked, etc, etc.

We have NEVER had them to sell, so I really don't know where your comment about "all of the sharpie bats that VKS have stocked" comes from. I suggest you check your facts first.

We have only once posted a photo of a bat with a name on the bottom and that was a Reserve Edition bat that was going out to Ravinder Jadeja. It was never available for sale and likewise when we have in the past had bats for Tendulkar, Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Ganguly, Afridi, VVS Laxman, Zaheer Khan, Yousuf Pathan etc etc, then they have been just 1 or a maximum of 2 bats at a time, so there is never any surplus that are available to sell. If there was ever a surplus bat available then I would have kept it for myself and that has never happened.

I wouldn't say everyone was being biased, just cautious. I am sceptical of this being a pro-reject, simply because normally they have a rough sanding on the toe, while this one seems pretty well finished. Also, as someone else mentioned earlier, they don't normally have the weight written on the toe.

Also, some pro players do get their names written on the toe of their bats. Saw one of Richie Berrington's SS TON bats in the changing room, it was better than any SS I had come across personally. (Although they did spell it right, which makes me wonder if he just wrote it on himself... :D)

End of the day, I could have stolen his bat, used it and it wouldn't have made any difference to my batting or scores. If only you could buy technique and fast hands...

@TheAllRounder99 I can't wait for the detailed review threads, with plenty of pictures, on each of these pro bats you have!  :)

As for never hearing a bad word about OLS, a quick look on here using the search function...

Yep, I'll certainly be putting up a highly detailed, special thread on all the pro bats that I have. I'm just waiting for the ones that I've asked for and will then put it up, with plenty of pictures of course! :D Can see it being the most-viewed CB thread ever...but that's just my wishful thinking.

The Tendulkar bat is better than a lot of the modern day pro bats, I have to say, even though its a fair few years old - its unused! Freak show, it is.

So then there's the special Kohli one...

And I'm waiting for the Smith bat now - the Champions Trophy has only started!

I'm quite proud of the collection that I'm building. Used to be crazy about vintage bats. I realised soon enough that I had to move on as the nostalgia started to rapidly wear off...after many years.

Shax12 has a very impressive bat that was made for Ambati Rayudu. Crazy ping at 2.7lbs. Its certainly caught my eyes...

Oh yeah, and I thought it might be worth mentioning: Glenn Maxwell visited the Director of Cricket of my club at South Wiltshire CC and gave him one of his bats, which was ridiculously huge! It had big RNS stampings on the edges... I always used to think that Australian players loved Kooks...

What happened to the Jadeja bat then? Because that's what made me think that you sold them, on the RARE OCCASION that you received them.
Did you get to test it? How was the ping? Extraordinary, I imagine?

So all those bats you've had in the past, like the Tendulkar, Dhoni, etc, came to your shop, if I'm not wrong, and weren't sold?... What did you decide to do with them?
I'm sorry, I'm just a tad confused.

@Chad, I have ok hand speed and ok technique but am happy to get my hands on pro bats. Don't break any laws, happily accept gifts from Pros if they are willing to part with their bats. Tell them that you will start a fanclub for them in CBF which will help them find a nice wife (or husband - 21st. century and all).

Tell us about the bat. Looks MASSIVE! Weight? Ping?

You havent answered why if you've bought the bat a couple of days ago, Ajit is wanting to sell the exact bat to me now and saying it is still available?

Anyone else think the op is a new alias of another member here? @skip1973

Cancelled the order. Ajit did ask me again if I want it otherwise he'll give it away to someone else, I said no.

Not comfortable with going for it.

Could easily be a con for all I know. I think the toe has to be rougher. Seen that with all pro bats.

Plus, I have a Steve Smith bat coming soon towards me so taking the risk for what COULD be a Watson would be extremely silly.

The comments on this thread have really helped, even if they were as sceptical as expected!

That's solely because of the high volume of doubt on here for which I'm quite thankful, actually! But why yes, it was rather quick, but just in the nick of time. It was about to be packed and all for shipping.

@Number4 has held & seen at least 3 of shane watsons actual bats , plus several gn players sticks ,  these guys know their facts , player bats are never easy to come by & nearly always coveted by their owners.

To be honest, if you have Steve Smith bat coming and already have a couple of other pro bats, then you are best not to take the risk on the OLS bat!
For a retailer to get hold of genuine pro bats and actually sell them on is pretty rare! As VKS said, he would keep it himself if he did get one!!
Think of it logically and if you were a retailer and got a very special pro bat which was fantastic and a rare find, then would you :

1. Sell it on to a person you do not know for only the same or a tiny bit more than you would sell a standard bat?
2. Sell it on to one of your good mates?
3. Keep it for yourself as it is a rare thing?

For me it would have to be option 2 or 3! I wouldn't sell a mega special bat on to someone I didn't know who may not even fully appreciate it! You would always want to keep it yourself or watch a good friend or relative use and appreciate it, surely?

That is my thinking anyway.
So I think you have made the right choice by being unsure of the bat fella!

Hi again, I'm not too sure, but I'm probably getting it at the very end of June/beginning of July. Yep, I've been making some claims, I wouldn't say 'a lot'. I'll be putting up a special post when I feel like it. :)

Interesting as you did say it was coming, so really you haven't yet. My friend obtained one a couple weeks back so will be interesting to compare
