This was why our 2009 grill was designed with only 2 gap settings of 45mm and 55mm.....as discussed with someone this week they couldnt understand why there are otehr options that allow a bigger gap that a ball could fit through to be left.

The darren maddy video is the worst i have seen when facing broad in Dubai.....

tom, out of interest do your helmets only allow the grill to be positioned in one setting..?
Of course they dont, view any picture of an Ayrtek and you will see that. Less of stupid questions and posts please thanks.

In that pic of Dilshan, why does his CA stickered bat not have a stamp on the edge?

the gap can be set to the 55mm BSI specified but the peak will then flex when hit and the ball will go through it still due to the fact the plastic used to make them is the same as whats used to make washing up bowls from

The mold in use can also be pumped with other materials so PP would be classed as a basic component.

Then why isnt it?....to maximise profit margins?.....why use a basic material when there are better available is the view we took

They allow a variety of setting so that the grille can be positioned according to the person wearing the helmet...45mm and 55mm gap between peak and grille are included hence why only one slot is present on the front of the grille

there is a min distance specified in the BSI standard that the grille is meant to be set in regards to distance from the face as well so this needs to be catered for too.

PP has been tested and approved to BSI standards , that does not mean I use the same materials.
