I would have said "Surely no-one in the world still thinks that Pros only use the brand on their bats" Then I saw some of the Pakistani comments on B3's post on FB and I just rolled my eyes.
Obviously a hell of a bat because he didn't middle too many in that innings and it still flew.

B3 have been around for 5 years but how many years have Newbery, Hunts and Millichamp been around?

They have all made bats for top players. They have all had to watch other brands, with much deeper pockets, burn through their marketing budgets to have pros use their brand on TV.

On a similar note, you have to ask yourself if people genuinely think that, for example, NB (A shoe retailer) and MRF (A tyre manufacturer) make their bats.

If people are naive enough, let them carry on. We know better... fortunately!

No I am not Michel. Franks - are your?

Or perhaps you are near Nottingham and I have foolishly underestimated your knowledge :)

Whatever happened to 'If you bought the bat as Brand X, then it is a Brand X bat.'

I reckon if B3 want the glory of an international scoring big with their equipment then they should sponsor him. CA are paying his bills so I think we should respect that.

B3 have a right to call out players who have potentially broken agreements or contracts and to make sure people know it is themselves who should receive praise for the bat in the players hands.

I doubt the is case here but you never know. Is there any cases of players breaking contracts?

Isnt there some sort of an NDA between the batmakers/players/brands to protect the brands' interests? Never seen any batmaker so blatantly claim that they are the makers of the players' bats.

If every bat maker goes around making such claims, it would surely have some effect on the brand's sales.

The real question here is who is @Michael.Franks1965??

My money's on our old friend Mr Vincent...

As for B3, if it's not in the players contract then they're well within their right to advertise.

Saying that if I was in CA's shoes then I certainly wouldn't be best pleased (but then it's also their fault for not getting it in the contract in the first place!!).

Not a case of calling out players - if players are open for us to publicise that we make their bats then we will occasionally do so, especially in high profile matches. If not (in the majority of cases) we will respect their wishes and not say a dickie bird.

It is all down to the player, for example - Shoib Malik did not mind people knowing that we made his bats, where as another Pakistan player at the same time didn't want people to know - so we didn't say anything.

Finch openly posted on instagram/twitter, other players like him have said again that we must keep it a secret.

We would love to tell you all who we make for but we have an agreement with either other brands or individual players.

As for new to the business - B3 has been around for 5 years, and prior to that a further 28 years in the industry in a global cricket brand.
