The question really is, why would you buy an off the shelf nb bat when you can buy a slaz bat from the same manufacturer for a fraction of the price...

Same factory/manufacturer doesn't mean the same bat-maker or/and same willow. Just my two cents

We are going about all this the wring way. Us, the CBFers, should collectively use our buying power to access those types of bats from all over the world. Buying in bulk will also help negotiate better prices. We are the real market, not these snobby pros!

One or two guys just buying individual bats and parading them on CBF just makes no sense, kinda silly.

We should pool our resources, buy in bulk, get access to better quality bats and also better prices.

Doable?

I'd happily place us a bulk order with RS if there's interest - new price list taking the GST changes into account is due imminently. From memory the minimum order at trade price is around 16 bats.

I'm due to place a bulk order of softs/bags in the next few weeks anyway so can always tag some bats on to this if desired - would need the money upfront however!

Can "we" though?

Using Steve Smith as an example, FC Sondhi have one of his bats on site that he wants all his new ones based on. He can therefore get as many as he likes in that shape.

If we all grouped together in prepared to bet no two people would want the same thing. How is ordering 20 different spec bats at once any different to 20 different people ordering themselves a custom each?

Economies of scale.  If you order 20 bats in one order, you'll get them cheaper.

Isn't this what the sponsors are for?!
