I can't see them moving and I have to sell them, far too much for an Indian made bat in heavy weights, they are very responsive but crazy prices.

When they go on offer. Give me a shout skip.

I know this is a Kooka Thread but really this is all the brands taking us for a ride, GM with the Mana players was $1500 last summer, GN legend golds werent cheap either, kooka were $1100 plus, you pay for the ridiculous endorsement deals they pay the warners and Khawajas,
want a top Kooka? go buy the top from SG, nearly get 3 for that price if you know the right people.
@skip1973  you said Indian made even in the top model? is that confirmed from Kooka?

Yeah your spot on AFB the pricing regarding the pricing of the GM's mad, but if the kooka is Indian made that just takes it to a new level. I made the point a few times last year on the forum that the pricing in AUS from the cricket retailers has become obscene.  I purchased a kooka ghost last year from the UK retailer rather than in Aus, willow same grade, same factory,  apart from the handle same bat even with freight I save over $300, so I raise the question on the forum trying to determine how that money is divided between the retailers/importers/manufacturers.
I guess if people in AUS are silly enough to pay  those prices they (who ever that is) will continue to cash in.
As from what we have seen posted above, the more knowledgeable buyers will just compare what they would get from the likes of B3/L&W/ Uk retailers  etc

I assume you are referring to the UK. If so that's wrong. The 2017 and 2018 prices on the Legend are identical, and well short of £1000 rrp

I doubt it, GN have had the legend at over 1000 rrp for about 3 years.

For me , i just won't buy bats from oz retailers anymore unless they are heavily discounted and something special ( like an xp80 ) . If the difference was $50 i could cop it , but its usually hundreds . This is not just bats though . I plan on replacing my old aero standup bag ..... if i buy from uk i can save $30-50 compared to if i go to a local store . When the saving from buying overseas ( even after shipping) is about 25% of the oz retail price ( on an item this big and heavy )  then something is seriously wrong .
At my club there are fewer and fewer people buying from the big local retailers . That is sad . What I've noticed is that the only people buying from these retailers are parents of juniors , or anglo adults over 35 . Young anglo adults are more used to buying cricket gear online and the subcontinental players , of all ages ,  are used to it too .....when the older anglo players see what these folk are getting /what they paid etc , then they jump on board and buy online from overseas too , and then thats yet one more person not buying from a local retailer . I wish all of this wasn't so , but when you have option a) buy a quality bat locally , or b) buy a quality bat and full kit online/overseas for the same price , you can see why so many people take option b .
It's at a point now where if someone says ' i bought this from ( insert local retailer name ) ' you often here a response of laughter or people perplexingly asking 'why' ?

Btw ... this is all even sadder when you consider that the 3 or 4 biggest cricket retailers in oz are all great customer service wise , and are places i would like to spend my hard earned .  :(

Disagree on the customer service side as most of the people working in the ones near me have no idea, they are told to sell stickers basically. Sell what the big guys are using as little Jimmy should be using same bat at Steve Smith, warner, etc

I would love to do a shop one day with all clean and no labeled bats and you go and pick the bats on the feel and timber, then after you have selected the bat you get  the corresponding stickers

to be fair the customer service I have experienced from the likes of KD and Kingsgrove ( despite our banter) has be outstanding, GCCC however very very poor.

Yeah i agree re sales staff and bat knowledge. ...some have it , quite a few don't.  I was more referring to after sales warranty , trying to get stock in for a customer etc , that kind of thing .
Re your idea of clean skin bat selection , then get the corresponding stickers - that's a great idea , would be potentially an eye opener for some .... 'you mean i actually love Puma and Slazenger the best ? Really , must be some kind of mistake !' .
This pick your bat then get the stickers idea is kind of akin to those who blind date people on the internet based on 'personality' , then when they meet,  one has to put up with a fat old heffa and the other a scrawny old baldie !  :D

Ah right fair enough mis-informed then.
Was also informed 3 top spec batting gloves would be over £100 and the top WK gloves have risen to over £200?
