I wonder what the team meeting that sky eluded to was about? Stokes? Ashes? Lions squad?

I'd assume it was a warning about going out on the lash

Have a feeling the players have had a b******ing from Strauss/bayliss

Probably time to revisit the ' who can replace Stokes' section.

Can't see him going to Australia now

What an absolute bellend. Always knew he was firey but that lad he whacked at the end was retreating and not even fighting back. He doesn't deserve to go to Aus, let his country down. Great role model

Certainly doesn't look good however I'd say his only saving grace would be it seemed provoked, I'm  not defending it in anyway as it's despicable behaviour, Nothing has been verified yet so let's wait and hope!

But Being the pessimist about England cricket I am.... who do we replace him with?

Exactly...and precisely no one because he's that good. Woakes moves up to 6.

Strauss like him or dislike him he is in an impossible position, I hate to type this but he will sack Stokes . His England career is over.

Hate to agree with this!

I'm hoping ecb look at it that he isn't the first bloke to have a drunken fight and be arrested for that and he won't be the last, certainly vice captaincy gone he might get lucky over his career but have a lengthy ban

He got in trouble on a lions tour a few years back for boozing. Silly man, I hope that he can turn this around. I'm not that sure on the laws around this sort of thing, anyone know what a potential punishment will be?

Other sports people have come back from things like this so fingers crossed.

A quick look through uni notes, anything from "medium level community order" to 3 years imprisonment
This appears to look a more serious offence but wouldn't want to speculate, wouldn't be surprised if there's a suspended jail term

If you watch it properly you will see Stokes has reacted when the bloke has attempted to bottle someone... Yes he has lost it and carried on the assault however its all aimed at the bloke who attempted to bottle someone..
Personally I wouldn't like to say what his punishment should be because I'm not sure how I would react if I saw someone trying to use a bottle...
